The Monofilament Processor will unload anneal ovens and transport cart of material to scouring. Scour material per specification. Mix scour sample standard. Keep check of sample as required, and compare to standard. Clean anneal ovens as needed. Load rackwinding machine and wind material onto racks. Create and verify tickets and labels. Load racks into appropriate anneal oven and change programs if necessary. Open cans as needed. Verify moisture content is within specification. When placing material in vacuum chambers, verify that vacuum chamber is sealed after closing. Place chart on required oven and lock chart into place. Make periodic checks of the oven to ensure they are running within specification. After cycle is complete, verify chart status for accuracy and completeness. Keep track of anneal oven cleaning schedules for every anneal oven. Flag ovens that need cleaning with appropriate form. Complete required data on the Device History Record and other related forms. Follow Line Clearance Procedure.
The Monofilament Processor will also inspect the quality of strands on rack. Identify and remove defective strands. Cut material from rack, trimming material as needed. Measure strand lengths. Wrap/tie strand ends together in predetermined amounts. Pull samples. Complete required data on the Device History Record and other appropriate logs. Follow the Line Clearance Procedure.
He/she will also perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/facilitator. Follow current compliance regulations and standards. Comply with all federal regulated programs. Adhere to FDA quality and worldwide quality systems. Support Plant Diversity Process. Ensure safe working conditions and practices in the department. Demonstrate ability to consistently meet required work performance targets (RE’s). Demonstrate teamwork in identifying, evaluating, and resolving problems within the department. Support Maintenance Excellence including 5-S and Operator Asset Care. Support LEAN and Six Sigma initiatives.
Qualifications
A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment preferred. Experience with rackwinding equipment is preferred. Experience with automated cutting equipment is preferred. Basic computer skills required. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have strong analytical problem solving skills. Basic math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute percentages and work with decimals and fractions, required. Must have the ability to use the following: diameter gauge, tensiometer, label making equipment, copier, and calculator. The ability to maintain production records is required. Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and various processes and coordinate with other departments to effectively perform job duties. The ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds unaided and stand and/or walk more than 70% of the time required. Must be able to work rotating 12 hour shifts (C Shift - 7:00 pm - 7:00 am), which will include alternating weekends. The ability to work occasional overtime and some holidays is required.
