The Product Director will be responsible for the downstream marketing management of assigned Power Tools products within the US. Primary role is to provide decisive leadership in all areas of the marketing mix related to branding, market segmentation, product positioning, channel strategies, pricing, profitability and competitive dynamics. This person effectively develops, leads, and executes business and marketing plans to meet the current and future needs of their assigned portfolio. They will work on later stage new product development teams and will ultimately be responsible for executing launches for new products and indications.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement annual business plans for product line(s), which support strategic corporate sales, profit and product development goals and objectives; Partner extensively with US sales management, OpCo marketing teams, professional education and surgeon Key Opinion Leaders (KOL's) to identify, develop and execute strategies and activities to drive US penetration of our products; Analyze procedure volume, trends, growth, competitive information, reimbursement, and pricing for the market segment. Identify appropriate metrics and conduct product line(s) performance analysis; Develop strategies for promotional materials, and programs to support product line(s) and marketing goals and objectives within established project delivery dates and budget constraints; Ensure that appropriate technical product support is provided to sales force and surgeons regarding specific product line(s); Manage ongoing product line(s) forecast(s), which meet market demand and corporate inventory objectives; Lead efforts to develop and implement product-training programs for sales force; Conduct product launch presentations at appropriate regional and national meetings; Additional duties as assigned; Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times; Diligently participate in our compliance program-related activities as denoted by your supervisor or our Chief Compliance Officer.
Qualifications
B.A./B.S. in Marketing or Business Administration required; MBA preferred. Minimum of 5 years marketing experience in the medical device industry or MBA with a minimum of 3 years proven background as a Product Director in another industry is required. Minimum of 3 years medical device sales experience or corporate account management with an MBA or a minimum of 5 years of product development experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience in the management of major device platforms and derivative projects to establish significant strategic improvement in market position necessary.
Responsible for the creation, development and execution of overall marketing programs for a specific product area which support and meet business and departmental goals and objectives. Develops and manages the direction of the product area through annual marketing plans, which support corporate sales, profit and product development goals, which impact franchise and business unit performance. Develops and implements annual marketing plan to maximize and optimize performance in the product area through the identification of market trends, competitive activities and business opportunities. Establishes and manages Brand Marketing for the product line; develops strategy and manages the implementation of programs related to the product line for the Salesforce. Supports team-based multi-disciplinary projects in the research, design, development and manufacturing of new systems, components, related clinical products or services which add value and address customer needs.
Customer facing experience, preferably with surgeons is required. Must be able to attend Operating Room (OR) surgical procedures and support hands-on cadaver educational training sessions. Attendance and support of professional conventions and meetings and support to the sales organization is required. Candidate must have and excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills. The position is based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL; travel up to 30% domestically and internationally may be required.
