Strategic Capacity Management Intern (Summer 2014)
The Intern will: Be a part of a team responsible for analyzing the strategic capacity profile of the internal and external Janssen network. Supporting the JSC Strategic Capacity Planning team during their annual renewal process to update the long term planning model. Organize the long term forecasts for all pharmaceutical brands, generating conversion files for entering the information into the modeling system, and analyzing the changes to the forecasts from previous years. Maintain the forecast templates and analyzing any discrepancies related to suppliers, volume allocation, and magnitude of demand.
Global Reliability Co-op (Spring/Summer 2014 and Summer/Fall 2014 – 8 months)
The Co-op will: Support the reliability room process by implementing standard work and tools to gather and analyze reliability data. Assist in maintaining and improving the reliability early warning indicator dashboard (a tool to identify systemic issues throughout JSC and prevent them from occurring). Support reliability initiatives being chartered and run through the JSC global reliability room. Assist in the development of the virtual reliability room (a tool for sharing data across the enterprise and for developing improvement ideas). Gain an understanding of how the end to end Janssen supply chain processes function together.
Global Planning Co-op (Spring/Summer 2014 and Summer/ Fall 2014 – 8 months)
The Co-op will: Analyze and report business metrics (critical inventory levels, backorder reporting, line item fill rate, forecast accuracy, etc) in support of the Sales and Operations Planning Process (S&OP) as well as supporting strategic and tactical business planning and new product launches. Support key Supply Chain business activities. Inventory Management and Material Destruction Order Preparation, KPI tracking. Participate on Cross Functional Global Teams in support of Supply Chain Operations/Special Projections, ERP Systems Support (e.g. SAP) and Special Projects.
Global Procurement Co-op (Spring/Summer 2014 and Summer/Fall 2014 – 8 months)
The Co-op will: Working closely with the Procurement Managers on projects, interact with suppliers, maintain and update Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), prepare reports, utilize SAP and other data management tools. Duties will include a mix of day-to-day activities as well as assisting with longer term projects.
External Manufacturing Co-op (Spring/Summer 2014 and Summer/Fall 2014 – 8 months)
Co-op will: Be responsible for collecting and creating several key business reports to support externally manufactured products and perform systems support for ESI systems. Retrieve data from SAP ERP or various colleagues, data analysis to create the metrics required, and regular distribution of the reports to the business so that appropriate actions can be taken to ensure continuity of supply. Support the Supplier Relationship Management of a strategic external manufacturer in collaboration with the Site Manager through tracking of on time delivery metrics, publish a site scorecard, and maintain purchase orders to ensure prompt payment of bills. Participate in meetings as required or directed to understand and support data related activities.
Regional Demand Planning Co-op (Spring/Summer 2014 and Summer/Fall 2014 – 8 months)
The RDP Co-op will: Support base-business tactically through report generation and analysis, and strategically through idea generation, innovation. Support the execution of the JSC Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Process within North America, and may have exposure to related global processes. Own S&OP Demand Planning for a Franchise. Interact with other areas across the Supply Chain as well as the Commercial/Marketing Organization. Be a part of a structured Co-op program which consists of a formal mentoring program, visibility to upper management, professional training, and networking opportunities.
Global Technical Services (GTS) Co-op (Spring and Fall) and Intern (Summer)
The GTS Co-op/Intern will: Be part of a team responsible for the manufacture, optimization and technical transfer of products to manufacturing sites; work with both internal and external manufacturing sites to ensure fit for plant and commercial readiness of the production sites during technical development and execution of the transfer of pharmaceutical processes and products into the supply chain; help to drive cross-platform alignment and lead strategic cross-platform initiatives; work closely with a senior level Scientist/Engineer.
Quality Stability Co-op and Intern
Conduct routine analytical testing and support laboratory investigations.
Qualifications
Enrollment (not necessarily taking classes) in an accredited college/university and pursuing at least a Bachelors Degree during the Co-op or Internship is required. Business, Engineering, Operations, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Industrial Pharmacy academic major is required. Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering academic major is preferred. Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the Co-op or Internship is required. Completion of at least freshman year of an undergraduate academic program is required. A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 (based on 4.0 scale) is preferred. Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus/community service activities is preferred.
Positions are located in Raritan, New Jersey and Horsham, Pennsylvania. Ability to commute to/from the work location is required. A stipend will be offered to students that meet the commuting distance eligibility requirements.
