The Senior Scientist position in Cardiovascular Research will report to the Director of Cardiovascular Research and will focus on the research and discovery of new drugs for heart failure. The primary responsibilities for this individual will be to contribute to the execution of a research strategy focused on identifying unmet clinical needs in the areas of heart failure. They will participate as a driver of an internal research effort with emphasis on the execution of a “hybrid” research model combining internal expertise and resources with external opportunities and activities, and participate in the tactical execution of all research programs to bring cutting edge technologies and state-of-the-art platforms to bear on the research objectives.
Qualifications
The candidate must have a minimum of a Ph.D. degree with 4 years of experience postdoctoral in cardiac biochemistry and physiology.
Research experience in heart failure or related cardiovascular diseases is required. Specific areas of expertise can include cardiac myocyte signaling, mechanisms of cell-based therapy, cardiac remodeling and fibrosis, and heart failure in diabetes are preferred.
Experience supervising cross-functional projects is preferred. Pharma/Biotech and/or Academic research experience is required.
This position requires a solid scientific knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology, and pharmacology.
The candidate must demonstrate scientific leadership, strong track record of collaboration and innovation, and written/oral communication skills, including a strong publication record.
