Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies is currently seeking a Quality Engineer III reporting into Quality Assurance located in Los Angeles, CA.

The Quality Engineer III is primarily responsible for providing quality and compliance guidance/oversight to support the design, development, commercialization and launch of New Products at the Los Angeles manufacturing facility. The Quality Engineer III will work closely with R&D and Operations, utilizing various Quality Engineering tools in the development and manufacture of innovative new products as well as the maintenance of current products, materials and processes.
This individual will function as a quality lead on multi-functional product development teams in matters relating to Quality and Compliance and will support process validation activities for new products as well as changes to existing products.
Working in a fast-paced design team setting, this individual’s major responsibilities will include (but not limited to):Team member focused on product development and life cycle management activities related to the OTC business. Ensure effective and comprehensive quality strategies to support transfer to manufacturing activities both in Product Development and base business. Conduct and lead process verification and validation activities. Author, review and approve associated manufacturing documents, instructions and specifications. Develop inspection methodology and acceptance criteria for inspection sample plans. Work closely with suppliers on the qualification of new parts and processes supporting product development. Provide leadership in all areas of the Quality System, including, but not limited to Corrective & Preventive Actions, Nonconforming Materials, Risk Management, etc. This candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all levels within Quality as well as cross functionally with departments such as Product Development, Engineering, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Marketing.
Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times. This person will provide guidance to project teams, suppliers and other disciplines of new and changed products at the Los Angeles site to ensure compliance to established standards and are in full compliance with J&J Global and Regional policies and procedures.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Science or Engineering is required. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required. Knowledge of GMP requirements and current FDA enforcement regulations is required. Knowledge of the principles and practices of quality assurance in the consumer or pharmaceutical industry is preferred. Excellent system and process improvement aptitude is desired. Strong computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint are required, with working knowledge of statistical tools preferred. Excellent analytical, prioritization, and communication skills are required. Strong leadership potential, supervisory skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are required. The ability to work well in a team is critical. The ability to work in Los Angeles, CA is required.
