POSITION SUMMARY
The Director Project Management Office (PMO ) supports implementation of the Innovation Center Asia Pacific (IC-AP) strategy in terms of developing, implementating and overseeing the operational and reporting systems for all pre-POC/pre-FIH projects, due diligence, deal activity and relationships across the AP organization.
He/She provides a reliable and standardized reporting mechanism for all activities across Asia Pacific Region. The Director PMO is the linkage between the different functions of the Innovation Center Asia Pacific
He/She will maintain network with other Innvation centers and R&D program Directors.
The Director PMO is responsible to maintain full operational integration across the J&J Innovation Center Asia Pacific locations, and with the Therapeutic Areas of the Pharmaceutical Sector, the Businesses of Consumer and MD&D sectors in Asia Pacific.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• He/she will maintain accurate documentation and tracking of all projects for the Innovation Center Asia Pacific across different locations including but not limited to China, Japan,Australia, Singapore.
• The Director-PMO will implement a process for collecting, evaluating and transitioning (as appropriate) of all projects/programs between the different functions of the IC AP ( new venture, external R&D, transactions)
• He/she will be in charge of the regular assessment of the status of the projects and deals and communication to the Leaders of the IC-AP and other ICs
• The Director- PMO will partner with internal and external stakeholders and provides expertise to harmonize and optimize the IC business processes.
• He/She will facilitate the integration and simplification of the transactional decision process with the Therapeutic Areas of the Pharmaceutical Sector, the Businesses of Consumer and MD&D sectors within the Innovation Center.
• The Director- PMO will provide background information and documents to assist the Innovation Center Leader in decision making.
• This role will partner with, Finance, IT, Legal, Business and Therapeutic Area Leaders, J&J Development Corporation and their IC Leader to create, implement and maintain "one" global Information Sharing System across J&J for external relationship management & project management.
• Upon implementation of the Information Sharing System the Director-PMO will be responsible for appropriate training and optimal adherence by all involved in external innovation across their respective Innovation Center and its internal partners.
• He/she will approve and oversee the IT system strategy its deployment and budget while ensuring compliance to budgetary expenses or other legal obligations. The system will be simple to use but highly robust, portable and designed to track the deal activity, due diligence and progress of all pre-POC/pre-FIH projects/relationships across the organization and provide a reliable and standardized reporting mechanism. The system shall over time also include a relations management system, contract management, internal and external crowd sourcing capabilities and portfolio management tools to track and assess portfolio value, guide alliance management and guide decision making.
• The Director-PMO will alos be in charge of supporting the IC Leaders in building internal training plan and maintaining training log for the IC empluyess across te Region. The training plan will include but not limited to HCC, Legal, IP and other training
• He/She will encourage and maintain program management spirit among ICAP members
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of a Bachelor's or equivalent level degree is required. An advanced degree (Masters, MBA, PhD, MD, etc.) is preferred. A minimum of 7+ years of diverse business experience is required. Experience in a Scientific or related field is highly desirable. A solid understanding of business and science across the three sectors is preferred. Experience as a project manager required. The ability to build excellent relationships is needed. Demonstrated ability across several diverse job experiences to easily connect both internally and externally, create buy-in and produce results is required. Experience with implementing and scaling IT systems and Business Development is highly preferred. These positions will require travel and are located in Shanghai , Greater China
