Description

McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for Packaging Generalists (2 positions) for the 2nd shift (3:00 pm to 11:05 pm) located in Lititz, PA.

McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc. markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products, ZYRTEC® and BENADRYL® allergy medicines, IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal, MOTRIN® IB, PediaCare® upper respiratory medicines for infants and children, and SUDAFED® nasal decongestants. This role will support the manufacturing of several OTC products, including LISTERINE®, NEOSPORIN® , LUBRIDERM ® , DESITIN ® , and BEN-GAY®.

The basic functions of this position is to perform a combination of manual finishing jobs including feeding, sorting, finishing, inspecting, assembling, and picking. The Production Operator will service production lines in packaging and stack finished good pallets. Will operate or tend operation of equipment and be responsible to clean and lubricate equipment. Will disassemble, clean, reassemble machine or equipment after cleaning, and clean work areas. This position will be responsible to accurately prepare paperwork and complete all documentation for release of product.

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: set up line and supply packaging material to production lines or work areas, track materials from storage areas to working areas, unload materials from pallets, and feed materials to machines, stack finished containers from production line onto pallet, purge lines and perform inventory documentation, clean and lubricate machines, conveyor lines, belt drive parts, and auxiliary equipment, sweep, wash or wax floors, walls, ceilings and windows. In addition, will perform manual finishing of end product such as wipe containers, apply labels, feed product into conveyor, pack into multi-pack containers, make up components for finished product, and inspect finished product or product in process. Also, inspect container for volume, weight, appearance, capping, labeling, color, and other quality requirements. Inspect finishing supplies for defects, operate machines or equipment maintaining continuous flow and maximum efficiency, clearing up simple operation difficulties and supplying materials, feed containers to conveyor line from pallet and fill magazines or belt conveyors with materials required.

The equipment used in this position are hand stamps, manual or automatic filling machines, pallet jack, unscrambler, capping machine, labeler, wrapper, heat tunnel, palletizers, bundlers, and any other equipment on packaging lines. Various cleaning agents, power sweepers, floor scrubber, steam cleaner, air hoses, and other various hand tools will be utilized.

Qualifications


A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. The required abilities for this position are excellent partnering skills to work on a production line. Position requires repeated bending, stooping, lifting, and repetitive motion. Must be able to frequently lift/carry 1-20 lbs, and occasionally lift/carry 21-50 lbs. Must be able to work with various detergents, solvents, and grease throughout workday. Work alternates from 60 to 80 degrees in both non/and air-conditioned work environments. Candidates must successfully pass 5 written skills tests and a "hands on" Mechanical Aptitude test to be considered for hire. Basic computer skills, including Windows Operating Systems and applications or equivalent is required.

Three years experience in the manufacturing operation for the food, dairy, or pharmaceutical industry is preferred. Previous high-speed packaging equipment experience. Experience with computerized materials management and document tracking systems. Prior experience in a compliance related industry, and knowledge of GMP policies and procedures is preferred.
