Description
This position will require the use of design and technical expertise in the production of project drawings. Responsibilities include:
• Planning and managing work in all aspects of Basic and Detailed Design of pharmaceutical facilities with a strong focus on secondary clean room environment
• Manage the designated design firm in the production of layouts, designs, specifications and drafting of project drawings in accordance with design criteria and agreed schedules
• Participates in developing solutions for complex design problems, including code compliance and interfaces with internal JnJ experts
• Directs the design team consistent with required standards for design, quality control, and production
• Reviews and evaluates documents for accuracy and ensures coordination with discipline leads
• Completing agreed Client design deliverables
• Manages the production of data sheets for materials, fittings and fixtures
• Participates in establishing preferred systems and suppliers
• Assisting Project Leaders with managing design staff hours and planning schedules
• Ensuring designers collaborate with other disciplines to produce integrated project documents
• Participating in client meetings and design development
• Determines cause and effect to project budget and schedule for change requests
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
1. Strong pharmaceutical process facility design skills, good knowledge of technology and methodologies to create innovative approaches to building design;
2. Skills to present design work using graphic oral and other media both within the office, to Project Sponsors, consultants or regulatory authorities;
3. Skills to consistently strive to improve technical quality of work being produced; prioritize and organize the design firm in the production of design work;
4. Have excellent working knowledge of Revit and related BIM experience.
5. Have excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills; and have knowledge of basic financial metrics related to project management.
6. Proven track record of working on large scale pharmaceutical projects in China with at least 5 years project design experience
