Key Responsibilities:
The In-Country Associate Sourcing Manager primarily works with the local Operations and functional teams in the site. She/He will also be working with the Regional Commodity Leads, generating and implementing strategies related to Strategic Sourcing. She/He is also tasked to take leadership in all in-country initiatives with suppliers such as contract negotiations, cost improvement, business continuity planning, NPI and process improvements.
The incumbent will have the following major responsibilities:
1. Sourcing Strategies
- Development of Sourcing Strategies for local suppliers.
- Implementation of sourcing strategies and tactics including environmental scanning, supplier identification, competitive bidding, negotiations, etc.
- Collaboration with Local Supply Management, Quality&Technical Assurance, Operations and Regional Strategic Sourcing for various initiatives
2. Supplier Development (Identification / Selection process / Relationship Management)
- Leadership responsibilities for local suppliers
- Support Regional Sourcing to manage regional suppliers situated on-site
- On-going supplier relationship management and development to enable suppliers to meet J&J requirements
3. Business Continuity Planning/Supply Reliability
- Ensure continuous supply of RPMs to support customer service
- Leadership responsibilities to develop BCP strategies for local commodities
- Collaboration with Regional Sourcing to implement BCP with local suppliers
- Track results and develop action plans from BCP review
4. Cost Improvement
- Identification and implementation of Cost Improvement Program (CIP) projects
- Support regional sourcing in the implementation of regional CIPs
5. Cost and inflation Management
- Negotiations with suppliers to eliminate or minimize inflation due to feedstock price movement, currency fluctuations, etc
- Work with TPMs to ensure accurate and updated costs are used in the purchase of RPMs with suppliers
6. New Product Development
- Provide cost effective suppliers to support requirements for new materials used in NPDs
- Ensure timely execution of Sourcing-related tasks to support NPD launch
7. Quality Issues
- Co-lead local Zero Defect program with SQM
- Support the resolution of quality issues with suppliers by engaging suppliers in identifying and implementing action plans
8. Process Improvement
- Support implementation of existing processes, development of new process or review of existing processes as required by the business.
- Lead cascade and communication of any new processes or changes in processes related to suppliers
9. Others: Additional projects/tasks assigned by Manager
