Laboratory Specialists - Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Johnson & Johnson Medical Philippines
(Based in Manila / Bacolod / Cebu, Philippines)
Job Summary:
To provide product support and technical expertise to existing and potential customers, other members of Ortho Clinical Diagnostics (OCD), service partners and the wider diagnostic community, in accordance with the Business Plan.
Roles and Responsibilities:
MARKET/SALES SUPPORT
- Work with local and regional colleagues to achieve company goals in accordance with the Johnson & Johnson Credo.
- Promote OCD products in the marketplace.
- Readily identify and communicate business opportunities to sales.
- Provide proactive sales assistance by conducting product demonstrations, presentations, evaluations and technical expertise consistent with account strategies.
- Coordination and participation in local and regional User Group Meetings and industry conferences.
- Involvement in developing and delivering OCD product related poster/presentations at scientific conferences.
- Work to ensure maximum menu utilization occurs on all OCD platforms at customer sites.
- Use sales tools to reinforce the value of OCD products to existing and prospective customers.
- Comply with all Commercial Excellence processes:

Ø Effective use of Sales Tools
Ø Sales reporting
TERRITORY MANAGEMENT
- Ensure customer satisfaction and future business by regular contact with key lab personnel.
- Responsible for ensuring optimum operation of all OCD products in customer laboratories by closely working with Equipment Support Specialists, service partners and other relevant OCD personnel.
- Ensure all territory technical matters are logged into the Complaint Handling System and all complaints are closed out in agreed timeframes.
- Maintain individual operating expenses within the given budgets and company guidelines.
- Provide relevant reports to manager as required.
- Ensure all company provided "tools" are maintained in original working condition and kept secure at all times.
- Participate actively in optimizing customer ordering and usage patterns to achieve business objectives.
- Foster a good working relationship with service partners and OCD Equipment Support Specialists.
- Assist Sales to ensure Service Contracts are issues and renewed.
MARKET INFORMATION
- Work closely with the account managers in the establishment and implementation of account strategies.
- Carry out research on assay and test numbers at relevant accounts.
- Conduct laboratory assessments or work-flow analysis with Account Manager on prospective and existing accounts.
- Actively communicate competitor/customer activity to Sales and Marketing.
COMMUNICATION
- Share all relevant information with OCD personnel where appropriate.
- Use and maintain company communication resources in a cost-effective manner.
- Active participation in external publications and meetings.
- Active participation in company meetings where required.
CUSTOMER TRAINING
- Identify customer training needs and costs with the account managers and implement in accordance with account strategies.
- Coordinate and conduct customer training in consultation Account and Sales Manager.
- Participate in the design and delivery of relevant OCD product training to OCD personnel and service partners.
SYSTEM INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING
- Organize with account manager and equipment support specialist to facilitate efficient install/commissioning of all OCD systems and products.
- Schedule install/commissioning in line with Business Plan goals.
- Work closely with local logistics and Account Manager to ensure accurate processing of customer orders.
PERSONAL/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Coordinate Performance Management Process review as required.
- Identify personal training and development needs and communicate to line manager.
- Maintain and develop relevant technical knowledge and expertise pertinent to responsibilities.
- Maintain contact with relevant professional community
- Maintain and develop clinical biochemistry, immunodiagnostic and immuno haematology knowledge and current issues by reading educational articles, professional journals, abstracts, attending conferences etc.

- A Registered Medical Technologist (RMT)
- Must have 4 - 6 years of sales or practical experience with medical laboratory diagnostics.
- Willing to travel extensively in the Philippines and work beyond office hours if the situation requires it, to ensure complete and resolution of customer complaints.
- Customer-centric with the right attitude towards ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Has good oral, listening and written communication skills.
- Has strong analytical skills and good business sense.
- Has good planning and organizational skills; as well as teaching and presentation skills.
- Awareness of and adherence to Johnson & Johnson Credo values.
