Sample reception is part of an infectious disease laboratory within Janssen Diagnostics BVBA working on new generation patient therapies and diagnostics for HIV/HCV/Influenza.
- You will contribute to the daily work of the Sample reception group, including both administrative (80%) and lab work (20%) following the applicable lab procedures.
- You will do the day to day supervision of the sample reception group and report to the Ass. Director Lab Ops.
- You will report all anomalies or incidents to the Ass. Director Lab Ops.
- You identify problems, communicate them to the applicable departments and correct these.
- You comply with the Janssen Diagnostic Policies, Standard Operating procedures, Work Instructions, safe and good practice lab environment rules.
- You ensure confidentiality of patient related information.
- You present new process ideas/improvements to supervisors/senior leaders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor/Master degree in pharmaceutical and biological techniques or biology or chemistry or pharmacy or equivalent by experience. Experience with administrative work is an advantage.
- As a scientist you operate in a team of scientist specialized in sample reception activities. Experience with sample reception activities is required (min. 2 years).
- Experience of working in a highly regulated or diagnostic lab environment is an advantage.
- You will take up the leadership role of the sample reception group so experience with people management is required (min. 2 years)
- You have a thorough command of the English language in understanding/speaking and writing.
- You have knowledge of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Experience with a LIMS system is an advantage.
- Knowledge of virology is an advantage
- You are a motivated team worker and able to motivate people (very good interpersonal skills).
- You are a flexible person who can operate in a very challenging and changing environment.
- You can deal with pressure to deliver on time the test results/requested information to the internal and external customers.
- You demonstrate good communication skills and actively participate in meetings.
