The MDD IT Supply Chain analytics organization is seeking an IT Lead to support project management of analytical initiatives underway. The incumbent will be responsible for project delivery for the analytics components of Supply chain reliability and analytics program. The position will be individually accountable to deliver on end to end analytics solutions. This position will report to MDD Supply chain analytics IT manager.
Primary responsibilities include: Lead MDD Supply chain analytics projects in close partnership with business partners on developing requirements, scope, final project deliverables, resourcing plan within agreed up on budget. Lead IT project team to ensure project deliverables are met per agreed up on requirements. Ongoing communication to key business partners at director and manager level and IT stakeholders to review project status, risks and mitigations. Expertise in project management methodologies (agile, waterfall etc), tools and techniques, prepares all required SDLC documents, including project status reports, briefings, projects financial analysis reports, time reports and other project control documents.
Anticipates, assesses, and manages project and business risks for assigned projects, creating and implementing risk mitigation plans and providing business partners and upper management with project status reports noting issues requiring decisions and escalation. Challenge status quo and think out-of-the-box to deliver analytical capabilities with agility. Influence teams at all levels of organization across infrastructure services, enterprise architecture, application services and business to remove obstacles to execute successfully. Provide direct input to budget and resource planning. Optimize technology portfolio by identifying new ways to provide value to the business (e.g., retirements, upgrades, leveraging opportunities, functionality extensions).
Additional responsibilities include: Independently troubleshoots more complex problems and suggests effective resolutions. Select tools and methodologies for projects, following compliance and company guidelines. Lead the assessment of the technical and economic feasibility of proposed analytical solutions and provides appropriate recommendations based on industry trends, internal benchmarking, and vendor relationships. Balance between IT standards and strategies and business needs to guide well-informed decisions. Apply compliance requirements within scope of responsibility, provide documentation as necessary, and participate in compliance activities as required. Advanced understanding of analytical capabilities and serving as a subject matter expert to others. Build and maintain up-to-date knowledge about company processes, strategies and industry trends. Advanced working knowledge of changing business processes and subsequent impact to analytical capabilities. Advanced understanding of J&J IT’s technology standards and strategies. Detailed understanding of business processes and data within and across Supply Chain domain.
Multi-lingual and cultural awareness; Functions independently with limited work direction and escalates as appropriate. Provides work process reviews and provides balanced/constructive feedback. Mentors and guides junior-level staff.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of IT professional experience is required. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Intelligence required. Experience working with business partners, capturing business requirements and managing projects is required. Project management and business solutions delivery experience is required. Experience and knowledge of data integration tools/techniques, data warehousing concepts and standard reporting solutions is required. Knowledge of BI data visualization technologies such as Tableau and/or Spotfire is preferred. Experience with end-to-end development of Business Intelligence solutions is preferred. Functional supply chain business experience is preferred. Experience using Agile methodologies for deployment of analytics is preferred.
The ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, and achieve results in a fast-paced environment are required. Sense of urgency required while maintaining a high degree of professionalism. Candidate must have strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.
