Scientist Formulation Development (PhD)
Department:
The Drug Product Development department (DPD) consists of the Formulation Development and the Fill/Finish Process groups. The department is responsible for formulation development, fill/ finish process development as well as preparations for and technical oversight of drug product manufacturing at contract manufacturing organizations.
The open position is in the Formulation Development group. This group is responsible for developing and optimizing formulations of investigational drug products ensuring good vaccine shelf life, primary packaging as well as conducting in-use stability studies to verify the quality of the product when administered according to the pharmacy manual. All activities are performed in close collaboration with other departments.
Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated scientist who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for the complete trajectory of formulation (or assay) development, including writing plans, managing the experimental work (contributing in the lab where possible), analyzing the data and reporting the results in written and oral form. Furthermore, you will participate in project teams and other forums where formulation expertise is required.
We offer a challenging position which allows you to work on different types of interesting products in various stages of development (preclinical through late stage). Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant discipline such as (bio)pharmaceutical sciences or biochemistry.
- Familiarity with (viral) vaccine formulation development, adjuvants, container-closure systems, stability studies and/or development of (bio)physical assays is a strong advantage, as is a working knowledge of quality systems, like GMP.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills, creativity and a strong scientific mindset are key for this position.
