The Senior Biostatistician supports (with review) trial planning and analysis activities in support of clinical trials, regulatory approval, and marketing efforts. The Senior Biostatistician assists in preparing development programs for new drug indications. This individual provides primary statistical input for clinical study design. S/he provides analysis planning for clinical studies, statistical input to clinical study reports, and statistical support to other disciplines related to clinical statistics.
The Senior Biostatistician will interface with Biostatistics staff, clinical teams, and associated working groups. This individual will be involved in communication with SAS programming, clinical data management, clinical trials management, regulatory affairs, clinical communications, clinical pharmacology, medical writing, and quality management.
Qualifications
A PhD in Statistics or related field combined with 3+ years’ experience is preferred. A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Statistics or related field combined with 5+ years’ experience is required. Basic knowledge of SAS programming and at least some other significant statistics software (e.g., R, S-Plus, PASS) is required. A PhD and oncology industry experience is preferred although not required. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. The ability to work independently is required. The position is located in La Jolla, CA and may require up to 10% (international/domestic) travel.
