Purpose of the role :
The Janssen R&D IT - External Innovation team is looking for an outstanding and self-motivated Bioinformatician to participate in the IMI Funded eTRIKS consortium (www.etriks.eu). The eTRIKS project is enabling a new generation of knowledge management and informatics technology to enable translational science and biomarker research in complex disease.
Working as part of an international consortium with both leading industrial & academic partners your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with senior scientists from both Janssen and partner organisation in specific research projects to understand and advise of knowledge management best practice
- Support the coordination, integration and management of Phenotypic, Omic and NGS data from clinical and pre-clinical studies
- Analyse multi-omic data sets using novel systems biology tools
- Collect requirements and guide software engineers in the eTRIKS project as the develop the next generation of the TranSMART platform (www.transmartfoundation.org)
Qualifications
- You have a PhD in biology/bioengineering/or similar
- You have Bioinformatics experience in processing & analysing “ omics” or NGS data
- You have experience in large research consortia
- You are willing to travel
