The Medical Affairs Therapeutic Area Stronghold (MATAS) team is responsible for developing, coordinating and executing the Therapeutic Area strategic plan for Medical Affairs. This position resides in the MATAS which is responsible for designing and executing registries, Phase IIIb/IV trials and other post-marketing requirements within the areas of JBI’s current or emerging indications. The MATAS team includes Medical Affairs Physicians, Research Scientists, and Operations members. The Director, Rheumatology position will be part of the MATAS team and will work closely with Global Medical Affairs, Health Outcomes and Commercial team members in Rheumatology supporting Immunology and Rheumatology within JBI.
Qualifications
A MD (or international equivalent) is required. Board Certification or Eligibility in Rheumatology or Clinical Immunology is strongly preferred. A minimum of 3 years of participation in clinical studies or pharmaceutical industry clinical research and/or medical affairs experience is required. Experience with Health Outcomes or Managed Care interactions is helpful. Ability to work in a matrix organization with cross-functional teams is mandatory. The candidate must have strong collaboration and teaming skills. Energy and enthusiasm are essential. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills are required. The position may require up to 15% annual travel (domestic and international).
