IT Application Services Global Service Delivery (AS-GSD) is the Manufacturing and Support arm of Global Application Services and is accountable for delivering all customer commitments in Build and Support of J&J applications.
The EMEA BI/Data software engineering lead will be responsible for leading a team providing data and BI capabilities for the Johnson and Johnson EMEA organizations on Consumer, Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals Supply Chain platforms. This person will be responsible that quality standards in the build activities are met and the building of the application is according to SW engineering good practices. He/she will ensure the right technical delivery capacity is identified and available to deliver according to committed implementation dates in the software coding stage. As a lead for specific build and run assignments he/she will liaise with the delivery management organization to identify needs. He/she contributes to continuous improvement of factory processes by introducing templates, reusable code and recipe as part of measurable processes.
- Deliver application build services in the area of business intelligence (BI) and data services with a focus on supply chain projects in the SAP area.
- Ensure application development performance metrics (ADM) are met/exceeded for the assigned build portfolio.
- Lead onshore and offshore teams of functional support consultants (level 2 and 3), including resource planning and weekly follow up meetings with the teams. Escalate timely functional, technical and resource issues.
- Deliver BI/data service- expertise and support to the BI support organization (application maintenance, including incident, break-fix ,problem management and service request management)
- Drive service delivery costs down across the portfolio of assigned build activities by adopting and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Analyze business issues, balancing the often competing needs for innovation and standardization/process harmonization, to develop/propose solutions.
- Provide regular and detailed appropriate reports back to stakeholders about the current status of services.
- Act as first level escalation point for the build/support issues.
- Manage and control the implementation of changes into the productive SAP client. Ensure that these changes do not disrupt existing functionality on the productive platform.
Qualifications
Education & experience
• Desired Education : B.A. /B.S. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Economics or other related field; an advanced degree is desirable.
• Essential Experience :3-4 years of IT experience in a corporate environment supporting SAP and BI solutions is required.
• Desired Certification: ITIL service management.
Competencies
• Ability to drive resolution for critical issues by bringing in teams together – both J&J internal partners and external vendors
• Excellent knowledge of SAP BW platform.
• SAP HANA knowledge/experience is desired.
• Basic knowledge of the SAP R3 and APO components is required.
• Basic insight in the supply chain processes OTI, Inventory Management, PLAN and MAKE is a plus.
• Knowledge of the SAP MDG/MDM platforms is desired
• Profound understanding of SAP BW technical design principles.
• An understanding of BI visualization tools like COGNOS, TABLEAU, SPOTFIRE, TM1, SAP BO is desired.
• An understanding of SQL relational databases is desired.
• Excellent documentation skills.
Strict adherence to documentation, change management and support procedures is a must.
• Analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and a fluent knowledge of English.
• Team player.
• Result driven.
• Travel may be required (less than 20%)
• Flexibility in working hours is required (occasional over-time or weekend work). Agree to be standby in case of critical issues.
