The Sourcing Lead, reporting into North America Commercial Procurement will provide procurement support to the Janssen Pharmaceutical Business Units. This individual will be responsible for driving integration with internal Business Partners, and implementing category strategies that produce best in class practices and results. This individual will be directly accountable to deliver value and competitive advantage in the business as measured by Profit & Loss (P&L) savings, cost reduction and cost avoidance, supplier enabled innovation, risk mitigation, process improvement, and supplier diversity. This individual will have a primary alignment with a particular business unit, but a secondary alignment across the business units and procurement categories so that resources can be assigned according to the overall priorities of the business. The Sourcing Lead will ensure strong relationships with business partners to deliver value in support of their business plan. This individual will lead the timely and economical purchase of quality goods and services as well as initiate and manage competitive bidding events. In addition, this individual will plan and prepare formal bid packages and evaluate supplier proposals. The Sourcing Lead will lead and actively participate in the supplier selection process. This individual will insure inclusion of diverse suppliers, whenever possible, and document all savings in the data capture system. This individual will negotiate contracts in support of the business and/or category and enter all completed contracts into the International Contracts Database.
The Sourcing Lead is also responsible for: providing analytical support for campus and category managers and develop business cases to support recommendations. Managing approvals of purchase requisitions in Ariba, and insuring compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, and promoting good purchasing behavior. Relationship management for key suppliers, including addressing supplier performance issues, in partnership with key stakeholders. Collaborating with suppliers to propose innovative solutions to business and process issues. Manage and evaluate a designated supplier base and consolidate and replace suppliers as required. NACP provides procurement support to the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies. As well as, the execution of the source to pay process.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. An Advanced Degree or MBA is preferred. A minimum of 4 years’ experience within supply chain, sourcing, procurement, operations and/or marketing is required. Experience managing projects is preferred. Experience with marketing and in developing service agreements is preferred. Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and/or certification is preferred. Experience working with Ariba and/or other e-Sourcing tools is also preferred.
Analytical skills and attention to detail are required. Strong influencing, negotiating skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to partner with associates at all levels of the organization are required. The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and make decisions in an ambiguous environment is required.
This position is based in Titusville, NJ, Raritan, NJ, or Horsham, PA and may require up to 10% travel, domestically.
