• J&J Consumer R&D and Regulatory are organized as global functions with presences in North America (7 main locations), Europe (5 main locations), Latin-America (1 main location) and Asia-Pacific (4 main locations).
• R&D and Regulatory are responsible for the development and introduction of new products and the support of formulations and licensing of these products. The key functions within these groups are Portfolio Management, Product Development, Laboratories (Analytical / Micro-Biology / Toxicology), Regulatory Compliance & Medical Affairs, Design & Packaging, Technology Assurance & Technology Transfer and the Raw Material Center. Other functions contributing to the development and introduction of new products are Consumer Sciences, Business Development, Global Strategic Insights and Advanced Technologies.
• I/T services for these functions are provided centrally by GPIQ (Global Product Innovation & Quality), part of Consumer I/T. The team consists of about 60 people and the “Global Deployment” department coordinates all activities outside of North America. GPIQ supports a portfolio of about 10 global applications and several local applications that are used by approximately 4,000 users.
• As part of the GPIQ Regional Deployment Team based in Latin America the role will assist in the deployment of the GPIQ global applications in Latin America. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, gaps analysis, change management, needed prior to deployment of the new global applications deployed by GPIQ. The position is also responsible for contributing to the retirement of legacy region and local applications replaced by new global solutions.
• The IT Lead is responsible for supporting users based in Latin America on existing GPIQ applications. For applications that have been deployed, the IT Lead is responsible for assisting in driving adoption and correct usage of these applications to make sure that the benefits of these applications are fully realized. Activities include training, data migration, legacy application retirement and working with key users to find ways to optimize the usage of the applications.
• Support Senior Management in the communication and change management activities to make sure business processes and applications supporting these business processes are perfectly aligned. Using metrics and reports, the deployment manager can assist in driving process harmonization / optimization and discover bottlenecks in key processes.
• As part of the GPIQ team, be an active member of the Latin America region to make sure regional requirements are integrated into the global applications. Supporting the Regional IT Manager and the Regional Business Partners, promote the benefits of global harmonized processes and drive leverage using global standards.
• Liaise and partner with the other I/T teams in the region to make sure the R&D I/T support is integrated and aligned with the overall I/T strategy for the region.
