The Senior Associate Scientist will join the Hematologic Malignancies Disease Area Stronghold and focus research efforts in the discovery and development of biologics that directly impact tumor growth or function as immune modulators for the treatment of cancer. S/he will be responsible for independently contributing to and possibly leading one of the research programs across the different stages of pre-clinical drug discovery. His/her responsibilities include the design, execution and interpretation of studies for the validation and characterization of new targets and therapeutic agents in the area of hematologic malignancies and tumor immunology. The scientist will effectively and frequently collaborate with colleagues in the oncology, immunology and antibody development groups as well as present scientific results to their research group and multidisciplinary teams.

The Senior Associate Scientist will join one or more ongoing programs, and may eventually initiate a novel large molecule drug discovery program in hematologic malignancy and/or tumor immunology. The successful candidate will: Demonstrate ability to design, perform and interpret complex in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo experiments; Develop expertise in flow cytometry, and may obtain advanced training in multicolor flow cytometry; Demonstrate the ability to analyze and present data in professional 'publication ready' format; Demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage multiple experiments simultaneously; Demonstrate the ability to contribute to various projects outside of his/her own, and collaborate with stakeholders from all relevant functions; Keep up-to-date with the literature related to his/her field; Demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication.

Qualifications


MS with at least 6 years of experience OR a BS/BA degree with at least 9 years of experience, performing progressively advanced duties at the Associate Scientist II level or equivalent is required

Must be proficient in cell biology assays that could include FACS, ELISAs, cell proliferation, cellular cytotoxicity, immune cell isolation from whole blood or tissues, cell culture, transfection and cloning of stable cell lines, ADCC, CDC

Previous experience with IC50 determination, MSD, electrophoresis, and microscopy are preferred

The successful candidate will be intellectually curious and well informed on the latest scientific advances in the field, and will demonstrate creativity and novel approaches to solving scientific problem

Experience in preclinical drug discovery or validation of drug targets is preferred

Strong cell biology and assay skills are required

Experience with tumor cells (solid tumor or hematologic cancer) is preferred

Previous experience in flow cytometry is preferred

Experience with analysis of immune cell function or characterization in is preferred

Familiarity with tumor models and mechanisms of anti-tumor responses with strength in the analysis of the activity of T cells, macrophages and NK cells in anti-tumor immunity is preferred

Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple experiments simultaneously is required

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally is required

Detail-oriented, with excellent record-keeping skills is required

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

Able to effectively present scientific data and concepts to international standards is required

This position is located in Spring House, PA.

There will be up to 10% travel.
