The Oncology Specialist is a field sales representative who proactively fulfills Janssen Biotech, Inc.'s sales strategies by selling current and potential new oncology therapeutics. The focus will transition over time from supportive care products to oncology therapeutics. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the products' clinical efficacy, articulate a value proposition for the customer, provide clinical support/information as needed, and achieve their sales quota.
Key job activities include business analysis, actively prospects for new business within assigned accounts, develops account strategies with District Manager (i.e., identifies key accounts, develops specific plans for penetration). Develops customer specific pre- and post-call plans that include objectives, probes and supporting materials. Effectively gains access via interpersonal skills to penetrate new and current accounts. Uses effective probing to identify needs and opportunities in "stand-up" and "sit-down" calls. Demonstrates ability to accurately identify customer's treatment philosophies. Develops and implements approaches to in-service informational sessions and presentations. Appropriately utilizes all marketing tools and resources, including computer generated presentations, uses closing skills to move sale to next step (i.e., another appointment, in-service, patient identification, etc.). Effectively discusses reimbursement options with customers to enhance sales opportunities. Negotiates sales and closes orders to meet sales quotas.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree and a minimum of four (4) years of successful pharmaceutical, biologic / biotech, or medical device sales experience. Two (2) years of specialty sales experience is strongly preferred. Prior knowledge of the Oncology / Urology / Nephrology field(s) is preferred. A working knowledge of the hospital / institutional sales environment, managing through complex reimbursement issues, a strong working knowledge of Medicare Part D, prior Management Development courses, experience in project oriented selling situations in a high incentive and individual performance culture, along with a documented successful sales performance (high growth, results vs. plan) are preferred. Successful completion of the Gallup Sales Assessment is required. All candidates must have a valid driver's license issued in one of the fifty (50) United States along with a clean driving record and must be willing to travel as needed or required. Candidates must satisfy reasonable credentialing requirements, including, but not limited to TB tests, Hepatitis B vaccine, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and Varicella (chicken pox). Candidates are required to submit to annual background checks by Janssen Biotech, Inc.
