As part of this undergraduate hiring initiative, individuals will cultivate a strong skill set in the fundamentals of pharmaceutical selling, gain an understanding of the healthcare environment, develop proficiency in business analytics, and foster leadership capabilities. This position will provide a learning curriculum that is comprised of both on-the-job training, formal and informal coaching, and project based learning opportunities to enhance professional skill set development.
As part of the core Sales Representative role, the individual is responsible for achieving sales results, and business objectives within an assigned territory/accounts/targets. The individual may also be assigned to lead sales-related project work with specific objectives and metrics. The individual uses discretion and judgment to execute an appropriate, tailored strategy for their target customers, including medical practices, physicians, community hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies within the assigned geography. The individual incorporates local market business drivers to monitor and adjust strategies to capitalize on emerging market trends, policies, or dynamics that impact the assigned customer base. The Representative applies a range of consultative selling skills and in‐depth clinical and product knowledge to drive business results and build support for the Janssen portfolio of products. The Representative identifies and cultivates relationships with key influencers within assigned customers and professional networks to enhance scope of influence. The individual collaborates across Janssen teams and business partners to maximize efforts and enhance business outcomes. The individual implements brand marketing strategies and tactics at the local level, executes managed care pull‐through and push‐through strategies, and appropriately leverages Company resources to enhance business results.
Individuals in this role will contribute to business results as an integral member of the Sales Team, with project responsibility that may encompass: analyzing data to understand business drivers and trends, assisting with the management of promotional display programs, reporting and evaluating monthly sales versus forecast activity, and executing additional projects that support our key business initiatives.
Qualifications
Attainment of a Bachelors Degree from an accredited university/college with graduation date between July 2014 and June 2015 is required. Ability to start work on a full-time basis by July 2015 is preferred. Sales, Marketing, or Business academic major is preferred. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple activities concurrently is required. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills are required. Ability to create strong, collaborative working relationships and encourage creative solutions to accomplish team goals is required. Highly motivated individual with a keen intellectual curiosity is required. Demonstrated capabilities in pursuing projects with enthusiasm and their propensity for results through an internship, co-op, or work experience in sales, marketing, advertising, or a related field is required.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required. Willingness to relocate to an assigned geography is required. Willingness and ability to travel overnight locally, regionally, and nationally up to 25% is required. Ability to work beyond normal business hours and periodic weekend work is required. Knowledge of the U.S. healthcare industry is preferred. Experience in a leadership role within an organization or team is preferred.
