Description
This role is to provide in-depth bioinformatics supports at R&D Shanghai, use information technology, to accelerate the drug discovery projects. One key aspect of the role is to work closely with experimental scientist in Shanghai R&D center as well as major stakeholders globally to develop informatics tools and an analyses plan to improve target discovery and biomarker candidate quality, under the supervision of bioinformatics team leader.
Qualifications
Specialised Knowledge:
PhD, in biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, or molecular modeling.
Good understanding of large data set (-omics, especially NGS data) in life science and drug discovery space.
Demonstrated capability to utilize the data through informatics analysis and to influence the key decision making.
Basic Requirements:
Must be non-comparative, objective and relevant. Critical/essential to accomplish the role
Technical requirement:
Good understanding of informatics.
Familiar with large omics data sets and extensive experience in informatics architecture and integration tools to access and analyze large genetic and ‘omics data’, especially NGS data sets.
Deep understanding of various modeling, statistics, data mining methods, application tools and their applications in data analysis and integration.
Demonstrated ability to work with experimental scientists to define critical problems that can be solved through data analysis.
Leadership and behavior requirements:
Excellent communication skills
Enterprise thinking and collaborative with great team spirit.
Preferred Requirements:
Relevant to the role, but not critical/essential
Experience in drug discovery and development process
Previous industry experience preferred
Previous background in oncology/virology/infection disease preferred
