Data Management Leader (DML) Associate Director-00000RYZ
Description
The Data Management Leader (DML) Associate Director is responsible for managing all data management deliverables for one or more compounds of medium to high complexity, and serves as the single point of contact and Clinical Team member of the R&D Company for data management. This position collaborates with internal and external partners on indications of high complexity, and takes a leadership role in process improvement intitiatives.
The current position will be responsible for managing deliverables for an oncology compound.
This is a project management position requiring expert knowledge of data management tools and processes, as well as project management tools and processes.
The DML Associate Director independently makes decisions around timelines and budgets if they do not adversely impact the functions or the quality of the deliverables. The DML proposes decisions to the functional leader of Global Data Managers (GDMs) around resource allocation within the project to ensure priorities are being addressed. This position is instrumental in the decisions around choice of External Service Providers for data management activities and advises the team on Data Management strategies. The DML negotiates for priority status and timeline adjustments with the Clinical Team as appropriate.
This position provides analytic rationale to make decisions, and keeps functional leaders and data management specific area leaders informed of decisions. The DML develops and implements solutions to issues that arise on the project, working across functions. The DML provides input to performance reviews for team members and participates in the interview process for new hires. This position collaborates with functional management in making hiring recommendations, and providing development opportunities for GDMs.
There are no direct reports, but matrix reporting through the GDM team. This position mentors DML manager level positions, and coordinates real time inspection readiness for all IDS deliverables related to the oncology compound. The DML takes a leadership role for regulatory agency inspections and J&J internal audits as necessary.
Qualifications
- MS degree or higher
- 8-10 years clinical data management experience
- Experience in outsourcing and contract oversight
- Experience in leading teams
- Experience partnering with CROs
- Experience with complex project management
