Description
The Regional Medical Advisor will support the Regional Neuroscience Area Lead to facilitate and implement the Asia Pacific Medical Strategy. This will require close cooperation with Country Medical Directors as well as Country and Regional cross functional team. He / she will ensure that all activities are aligned with the Global Strategy for those products.
A key attribute of the role is the ability to have deep knowledge and speak with authority about CNS diseases and our products. From time to time he/she may be called upon to contribute to medical affairs activities in neurological diseases.
This position reports to the Regional Medical Franchise Director - Asia Pacific
RESPONSIBILITIES
Medical Education
- Maximize the scientific and educational opportunities available at scientific congresses, including abstract submissions, poster preparation, speaker preparation, slide development. Ensure that scientific data used in the Medical Education program are the most updated and balanced (clinical study reports, publications etc).
- Review the program content and final program outline (eg ensure final agenda is aligned with company strategy and latest knowledge on company products) and review scientific Medical Education materials (eg review data accuracy on J&J products).
- Develop and conduct lectures/educational sessions for appropriate healthcare audiences.
- Conduct training for internal audiences.
- Review and approve educational materials for medical and scientific accuracy.
- Consult in the selection and development of expert speakers.
- Actively participate in the organization and execution of Continuing Medical Education (CME) Regional events.
MAF Team Leadership
- Act as a role model with respect to adherence to, and tracking compliance with, relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),.
Therapeutic Area (TA) Representation at Country, Regional and Global levels
- Provide support to the MAF Director for expertise, education, training of Local Operating Companies in AP
Internal & External Network/ KOL Management
- Contribute to the Develop and manage an external network of agencies, investigators, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and patient groups in order to further the Therapeutica Area (TA) strategy.
- Contribute to the Implementation of TA KOL management strategy and plan in collaboration with LOCs, facilitating the allocation of responsibility for managing specific KOL relationships along clearly defined lines.
Product Safety and Regulatory Requirements
- Provide input to the local countries MAF to manage Product-related medical safety issues and provide input to the regional compliance person under the supervision of a physician (MAF Director or TA leader).
Study Planning and Execution
- Work with the MAF Director to ensure that all country protocols are in alignment with, and support, the medical strategy under the supervision of the MA Director :
- Support MAF Director in the effort to ensure that Clinical Studies are published and in accordance with the regional and global publication strategy.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Academic background with a Medical Degree or PhD with at least 3 years industry/business experience in a relevant area for this function (e.g. Medical Affairs or Clinical R&D, academic or hospitals).
- Good knowledge of the relevant therapeutic diseases, including knowledge of recent publications and ability to speak with authority in the CNS area
- Up-to-date knowledge of all compounds in TA
- Knowledge of study methodology, study data review and analysis and publication processes.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacovigilance and regulatory affairs.
- Very strong and demonstrable communication and influencing skills that can impact at a Regional level.
- Self starting, pro-active and innovative approach.
- Highly customer and market place focused with an awareness of the importance of business results.
- Fluency in written/spoken English is required.
- Awareness of and adherence to Johnson & Johnson Credo values.
LOCATION
This position is to be based in the APAC region. The role holder will be expected to be based in their current country of residence, within Asia-Pacific with regional travel.
No relocation support will be provided.
