Medical Devices & Diagnostics Global Services, LLC, a memberof the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for aSenior Trainer for the Ethicon facility located in Somerville,NJ.

Work of the MD&DSupply Chain supports a multitude of product platforms, new products anddelivery systems that are used in a wide range of procedures throughout thehealthcare industry, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology,minimally invasive surgery, hospital sterilization, clinical laboratorytesting, diabetes management, joint replacement surgery and vision care.
The Sr. Trainer Trains and qualifies direct manufacturingpersonnel following the corresponding procedures and using documents,materials, and tools relevant to the different operations they support. Enablesskills development through training, certification and coaching in the JobInstruction (JI) skill set for SMEs (subject matter experts) / certifiedassociates acting as on the job trainer. Manages Learning Management System(LMS) data related to the certification process supported in the company. Thisindividual partners with management to evaluate the effectiveness of currenttraining practices and helps in the identification of skills that should befocused on to improve site training efficiency and productivity.
The Sr. Trainer executes and/or coordinates training plan forproduction areas assigned in alignment with Operations. This individual conductsNew Hire Orientation as needed (theory and practical) and maintains trainingreports & records such as training matrixes, training logbooks andqualification reports. If applicable, the Sr. Trainer is responsible for thepositive retrieval documentation process and will qualify as Train the Trainerto deliver training. This individual obtains certification in all productionoperations in area of responsibility. If applicable, subscribes in theDocumentation System to all applicable documents for their designated area. TheSr. Trainer manages Training Curriculum applicable to their designated area andenters data into the Learning Management System if needed. This individual attendsproduction meetings of designated area on a regular basis and will keep currentin manufacturing processes by performing rotational assignments in Production.
As applicable to support Training Within Industry (TWI) Methodologythe Sr. Trainer teaches and certifies selected SMEs to execute the role of JIInstructors accountable for on the job training. Evaluates, monitors andcoaches the quality of delivery of Job Instruction from JI instructors toassociates. Participates in the monthly assessment of associate’s compliance inareas within span of control. Drafts, Revises and Coaches others in thedrafting of Job Breakdown Sheets (JBS) for new or old jobs ensuring adherenceto guidelines and best practices. Trains associates for frontline jobs usingthe TWI Job Instruction method as applicable.
Qualifications
A minimum of an Associate’s Degree OR equivalent relevantprofessional experience is required. Previous training experience required. Aminimum of 6 years relevant working experience in training positions ispreferred. Experience working in Union environment is preferred. This candidatemust have excellent Communication Skills, Presentation skills knowledge andability. It is required to be proficient in Microsoft Office. Previousexperience with LEANand Six Sigma Initiatives is a plus. A thoroughunderstanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)/ISO (InternationalOrganization for Standardization) regulations is preferred. Certificationin TWI (Training within Industry Methodology); ASQ (AmericanSociety for Quality) / PE (Process Excellence) or equivalent certifications arepreferred.
This position may require minimal travel and is located in Somerville, NJ. This individual must have the ability and/or willingness to occasionallyovertime as well as the need to work off-shift if required by trainingschedule.
