The Senior Marketing Manager Beauty GFO Neutrogena North America is a key strategic role within the Global Franchise Organization (GFO). This is a pivotal role at the intersection of the global need state strategy and local brand relevance and implementation. This position reports into the Director Beauty GFO North America and will be based in Los Angeles at the Neutrogena campus.
The Senior Marketing Manager will lead innovation strategy development and new product deployment for the Region and will be a critical link to inform the global brand strategic plan development. Specifically, the Senior Marketing Manager will:
Participate in Regional Franchise Leadership Team (RFLT), w/ deep understanding & alignment to Region Strategies, Tactics & KPIs; Have close partnership with Commercial Leaders; Gain local insight / market intimacy with focus on markets representing 80% of Volume: Visit to Lead Markets as frequently as 1x per quarter and Visit to key Adapt markets as frequently as 1x per year. Responsible for developing the strategic direction for Neutrogena North America to ensure a holistic strategy that is informed by, and informs, the global brand strategy; Conduit of communication between Local Market and Global. Represents & Reinforces Global Vision & Strategy for Neutrogena within the Region. Represents and informs Global team of Local Market nuances, needs & competitive environment. Leads Region team to implement new product innovation; Partner w/ region supply chain / PMO to implement regional initiatives; Lead project team for formulation development (based on global chassis, respecting regional regulations and supply chain requirements); Adapt packaging graphics to region/markets; PEQ planning and prioritization; Manage compliance and transparency projects for the region; Lead innovation with Region Customers in partnership with local marketing and sales strategy. Lead the development and implementation of the growth model for Neutrogena for the region. Roll-up regional content needs and influence global content toolkit and production. Lead content production for specific initiatives via RFLT. Crystallize regional and local insight to influence global creative process and innovation for each brand within the need state in order to drive relevance.
The Senior Marketing Manager will ensure regional and local alignment for all plans including: deployment and adoption of the global playbooks and visual identity for the brands and ensure a strong partnership with the global Content and Innovation leaders to ensure regional input is included in global design.
In addition, the Senior Marketing Manager will identify opportunities to accelerate growth in existing priority markets and develop entry strategies for new markets in partnership with local marketing teams. He or she will develop transferable success models across countries, transferring learnings and best practices globally in partnership with the Global Franchise Leadership Team.
In addition, this person will have responsibility for a team of marketers on the Franchise team and will play in leadership role in talent management and succession planning for the franchise.
Qualifications
A BA degree is required. Master in business or marketing specialization preferred. A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in setting a vision and executing in a similar integrated brand leadership role within a consumer packaged goods organization, preferably with a breadth of functional and/or industry experience is required. Experience marketing in a digital world, (i.e., social media, e-commerce, analytics, on-line) is required. Experience working in a global organization and collaborating with regional groups is preferred. Demonstrated track record of people development and leadership is required. Experience leading in a matrix environment and cross functional teams is required. Experience in successful partnership with R&D organizations to develop innovative products supported by specific and relevant brand messaging is required. Proven success in developing strategic agency partnerships to build long term brand health and business is required. Demonstrated analytic skills and financial acumen in making effective business decisions is required. Experience in providing marketing thought leadership—taking consumer insight and using it to drive thinking and good decisions, is required. Demonstrated skill in executing and delivering brand leadership in a similar integrated brand leadership role is required. Experience living/working in one market within the region is preferred. Ability to travel up to 20% is required.
