Ethicon develops and markets products within three divisions: Ethicon Products for wound closure and tissue repair; Johnson & Johnson Wound Management with biosurgical technologies to manage intra-operative bleeding and postoperative leaking, as well as advanced wound care products.
An R&D engineer position is available in the R&D Package Design department. This position may include some or all of the following responsibilities:
Work in an engineering lab, building prototypes, testing, and generating various drawings in SolidWorks and ArtiosCAD. Develop test methods to characterize new products, design test fixtures, evaluate prototypes on bench-tops, and coordinate activities with outside suppliers. Conduct hands-on laboratory package testing. Complete documentation in laboratory notebooks, writing test protocols, conducting tests and generating final reports. Collaborate with engineers and support project related activities.
Qualifications
Candidates must be enrolled (not necessarily taking classes) in an accredited college/university during the Co-op session. Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering. Only students who have already completed their freshman year or later will be considered. Candidate must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the co-op session. A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 is strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus programs and/or community service activities is desired.
This position is located in Somerville, New Jersey. Students must be able to provide their own transportation to this work location. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future.
