The IT Lead,Quality Systems will help defineand shape the strategy within the CAPA, Events, Deviations, and Audit QualitySystems function, as well as lead project execution for key combination productinitiatives. This opportunity involves leading and delivering critical sectoras well as Enterprise Quality Systems initiatives on-time, on-budget, on-scope,on-quality and on-value, while meeting customer needs. As a member of theQuality Systems Business Unit IT team, the candidate will be called upon tolead global cross-functional teams, and will work with key business partnersacross the organization to drive and implement these initiatives. Understandingthat Quality is a competitive advantage for J&J, the candidate will help toreinforce this vision, by executing against defined strategies.
As part of the project lead role, thecandidate will be accountable for all project deliverables, and be required todevelop and deliver status and recommendations to senior management on keyinitiatives. Leading large project teams, the incumbent is expected to developproject schedules, manage budgets, define cross-functional deliverables, aswell as identify and manage project priorities. Key competencies include;ability for early identification of execution issues and opportunities,developing and delivering viable alternatives and contingency plans, leadingand engaging teams in necessary debate, while demonstrating prudent riskmanagement strategies. The ability to understand, manage and thrive in achanging business, technology and organizational environment is stronglydesired.
Critical skillsneeded to perform the job include: strong leadership skills, technical thoughtleadership, excellent project management skills, deep experience with computersystems validation, proficiency in Quality Systems business process areas,financial acumen, and strong oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
This position will require a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience. Candidates are required to have a strong and broad-based Information Technology background and must have prior experience managing complex initiatives across multiple business functions in a global environment. Experience managing GxP initiatives is preferred. Demonstrated ability to effectively and decisively interact with all levels of management is required. Strong and visible communication and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to drive results through a global matrix structure is essential.
Candidate must be intimately familiar with industry standard Project Management tools; PMP certification is a plus. Experience working with J&J Project Management methodologies such as FPx is strongly preferred.
This position will require up to 20% travel, both domestic and international.
