The Marketing Director, Beauty - Dabao GFO, Asia Pacific is a key strategic leadership role within the Asia Pacific Beauty Global Franchise Organization (GFO). This position reports directly into the Senior Director Asia Pacific Beauty and will be based in Shanghai, China
The Director will be responsible for serving on the Regional Franchise Leadership Team (RFLT) and working with China Dabao team to lead the development of the Dabao strategic plan in line with the global strategy. Specifically, the Director will:
• Identify growth opportunities to achieve sales and equity goals and develop plans based on consumer, category, and competitive data and insights. The Director will be responsible to lead the development and implementation of the entire IMC process, development of a robust 5-year pipeline of new products, packaging and claims innovation based on consumer insights and ensure excellence in execution of innovation pipelines
• In addition, the Director will identify opportunities to accelerate growth in existing consumer segments or channels and develop entry strategies for white space or adjacencies. He or she will develop transferable success model, learnings and best practices globally
• Be a core member of the Dabao Regional Franchise Leadership Team (RFLT), w/ deep understanding & alignment to the Region Strategies, Tactics & KPIs
o Have close partnership with Commercial Leaders
Gain local insight / market intimacy via co-locating with the China team
o Be the Conduit of communication between Local Market and Global Beauty Leadership team and need state leaders
Represents & Reinforces Global Vision & Strategy for Need States within Region
Represents and informs Global team of the Local Market nuances, needs & competitive environment
Qualifications
Requirements
• A BA degree is required.
• Fluent in speaking, reading and writing in Mandarin is required
• A minimum of +10 years of progressive experience in setting a vision and executing in a similar integrated brand leadership role within a consumer packaged goods organization, preferably with a breadth of functional and/or industry experience is required.
• Experience marketing in a digital world, (i.e., social media, e-commerce, analytics, on-line) is required.
• Demonstrated track record of people development and leadership is required
• Experience leading in a matrix environment and cross functional teams is required.
• Experience in successful partnership with R&D organizations to develop innovative products supported by specific and relevant brand messaging is required.
• Proven success in developing strategic agency partnerships to build long term brand health and business is required.
• Demonstrated financial acumen in making effective business decisions is required.
• Experience in providing marketing thought leadership—taking consumer insight and using it to drive thinking and good decisions, is required.
• Demonstrated skill in executing and delivering brand leadership in a similar integrated brand leadership role is required.
• Proven record in project management (preferably at global/regional level) is required.
• Ability to travel up to 30% regionally/internationally is required
DESIRABLE:
• Master in business or marketing specialization preferred.
• Experience working in a global organization and collaborating with regional groups is preferred.
• Experience living/working in one market within the region is preferred.
• Mandarin speaking
This position is preferred to be based in China.
