Description
Directly responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of global projects ensuring consistency with business strategy, commitments and goals. This includes defining, identifying and securing appropriate internal and external resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
• Requires proficiency in Senior Manager Project Management, including obtaining agreement on project definitions and priorities, and ensuring that resources, capabilities and processes are in place.
• Ensures that programs stay on plan by resolving resource conflicts and removing obstacles, which may involve negotiations at a senior level. • Establish plans for talent development, diversification, and professional development for group.
• Ensures that proper risk management analysis and plans are in place for all projects and technology implementation.
• Ensure metrics for engineering performance are met and plans are in place to provide continuous improvement.
• Ensure collaboration of engineering and technology group across other functional areas, establishing effective working relationships with regional partners.
• Ensure application of efficient work practices for core group processes and ensure continued improvement and update of these practices with lessons learned.
• Provide regional guidance on technology and engineering issues to all functional areas.
• Develop yearly business plans and personal objectives that support the overall company goals.
• Advise and correlate short and long term tactical engineering plans and programs for design, construction or alteration of activities based on strategic departmental plans.
•International Large Capital Project Expierence is a distinct advantage, ideally in Pharma sector
• Meets all mobility demands to perform duties and/or fulfill responsibilities of the job.
This role will be intially based in Shanghai reporting to the Senior Director of Asia Pacific Project Management within World Wide Engineering and Technical Operations; The role will ultimately involve oversight in a range of projects across multiple sectors and technologies but strong Life Science Large Capital project management experience is required. Expierence in converting buisness cases to project solutions and understanding of Front End Loading best practices is a distinct advantage as is People Leadeship expierence. Strong expierence in Capital projects in Asia is a requirement
Qualifications
Professional Engineer's License preferred
