Description
- Establish pharmaceutical manufacturing plant automation strategy and master plan.
- Client project lead in the design, development, integration, installation, verification and qualification of automated processes, equipment, and systems; including managing the work of internal engineers and outside vendors.
- The projects will be executed in a team environment. Other team members consist of Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Industrial IT consultants responsible for network design. The overall automation strategy is required to follow the guidelines and instructions defined by ISA-88 and ISA-95.
- The scope encompasses manufacturing computer and automation systems, including process control systems, building automation systems, manufacturing execution systems and data historians to an ERP, MES layer.
- Familiarity with automation and control systems such as Allen Bradley, ABB MOD300, DCS Rosemount RS3, Siemens APOGEE, Siemens Insight, Siemens APACS, Rockwell Automation DCS, Rockwell Automation Historian Systems, Honeywell DCS, Intellution, Wonderware, ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC500, RSBatch, RS View, eLIMS Lab Management, EMPOWER Lab historian, NeoPLM Enterprise Recipe Management, MES (Werum) Manufacturing Execution System, SAP EMS & Maintenance Management, PRS, IDM Production Reporting, Warehouse Management, OSI PI , PIMS Production Info Management, EDL – SFDA Serialization.
- Provide post implementation day-to-day technical support on process control systems and process control related tasks.
Other responsibilities include developing standards, procedures, training manuals, and other documentation for projects or internal use and providing training to operations and maintenance staff.
Qualifications
Education: At minimum, a B.S. degree in one of the following majors or related fields is required: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. Advanced M.S. or Ph. D. Degree is highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience
Key required competencies
- The ideal candidate should also understand other aspects of Automation including Electrical Design, Instrumentation Design, and Industrial IT.
- Exposure to or direct experience with regulated environments (i.e. cGMP, OSHA, EPA).
- Experience with computer systems validation practices.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong capability to coach, motivate, lead and manage people, teams, process, and projects
- Demonstrated organizational skills, proactive, creative and self-motivated with ability to multi-task.
- Strong communication skills, negotiation skills, resourceful, committed, and effectively works cross-functionally at all levels of the organization.
