The Director, Project Physician, CVM will support clinical development. This role requires a high-performing, and high-energy individual who demonstrates scientific and technical leadership, influence, the highest personal and ethical standards, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
Reporting to the VP, Franchise Medical Leader, this role is expected to provide clinical and scientific leadership to a development program. It is a visible and strategic position and the incumbent would be expected to be able to act autonomously, with little direct supervision. Key activities may include (a) design, implementation and medical oversight of large multinational clinical trial(s) (b) interpretation and reporting the results of research, in concert with other senior clinical personnel(c) supporting general Clinical/Medical Affairs activities involving product evaluation, labeling and surveillance (d) assessment of external opportunities relevant to the company's mission. The Director will act as a key liaison between the company and clinical investigators, opinion leaders, medical directors, and key regulatory officials.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a MD or equivalent degree; cardiovascular specialty is strongly preferred. In addition, at least 5 years of clinical research and/or medical affairs experience is required. Experience and knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical trials and for the appropriate contributions to regulatory filings is also required. Must have the ability to work in a matrix environment with cross-functional teams.
