We are seeking a motivated individual for a Senior Associate Scientist position in the Mechanistic & Investigative Toxicology (MIT) Department within Preclinical Development & Safety Department. The individual will work in a collaborative team environment within MIT and other disciplines including DMPK, Pathology, and Toxicology to provide technical support for derisking strategies for projects with toxicological issues. The Senior Associate Scientist will also be responsible for the development and execution of predictive or investigative assays in alignment with the MIT strategy.
Essential duties and responsibilities include: Independently designs and conducts experiments and with a high level of technical proficiency and attention to detail; Has broad technical expertise and ability to apply diverse skill sets for issue resolution; Critical thinking skills to apply and contribute to derisking strategies including ability to expertly troubleshoot technical issues; Keeps abreast of current scientific developments related to project or technical areas of interest; Analyzes, summarizes, reviews, interprets data and may develop follow-up strategies for study findings or issues, as needed; Prepares technical reports and other documents that record data or results; Works effectively in team settings.
Qualifications
Masters with 6 years of experience in a scientific discipline OR Bachelor’s with 9 years of experience in a scientific discipline is required
Pharmaceutical and/or Biotech Industry experience is required
Investigative or Discovery Toxicology Lab experience is preferred
Experience and expertise in cellular, biochemical, and molecular techniques including cell culture, development of cell-based assays, biochemical and other in vitro assays is required
Specific experience with gene expression/RNAi techniques, immunoassays, biomarker development (ELISAs, MSD etc), Flow Cytometry and Enzymatic Assays is preferred
Analyzing large datasets and data mining in the field of toxicology is preferred
The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of problem solving, good organizational habits, excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
