The Digital Manager: Ecommerce & Customer Development Manager plays an influential role as a member of the Canadian Digital Centre of Excellence Team and leads the creation of the Canadian E-Commerce strategy and takes a hands-on role in managing its implementation across Canada
Major Responsibilities
Enable rapid delivery against vision and strategy for ecommerce by delivering critical, short term foundational work to set business up for long-term success
Work closely with Commercial Sales to lead account management across pure play customers; deliver business plan per account, management of TI, negotiation of ecommerce terms
Provide engagement controls/rules to customer teams with bricks and mortar, multi-channel partners
Lead strategic connection of digital customer and consumer plans
Lead strategic assessment of future ecommerce partners, emerging capabilities and opportunities for incremental growth, bring recommendations to the organization for alignment
Collaborate and influence teams such as customer development, shopper marketing, brand marketing, medical, regulatory and legal to coordinate the digital marketing activities in support of strategic and operational ecommerce and customer digital plans
Ensure that the business meets key objectives and ultimately oversee continued growth and development through the digital channels.
Work with colleagues across the business to develop and drive leading edge E-Commerce marketing, category and sales initiatives
Key Stakeholder in Digital Asset Management and Product Catalogue solutions.
Develop and implement in-store initiatives using digital technology such as digital media screens, mobile couponing and mobile tagging
Continuously improve the Digital IQ of Commercial Sales teams through on-going development initiatives and sharing of best practice initiatives
Develop and maintain effective external relationships with key opinion leaders, agencies, customers and suppliers (as appropriate)
Ensure that all business practices are Business and country compliant and in line with our Credo and quality and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field. MBA is an asset.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience from within an E-Commerce business or in a leading CPG Company
Experience of either working in or with key retailers in an e-commerce capacity with thorough understanding of online shopping
Experience in a marketing environment with a focus on analytics and optimization
Comfortable with being hands-on with campaigns and have an in-depth understanding of marketing channels
Experience with account management of retailers, traditional or otherwise
Technical Competencies
Takes a strategic view and formulates commercial plans to create new ways of working with customers
Demonstrate understanding of the development and execution of strong communication marketing strategies in a digital world or integration of digital as part of a 360 degree campaign
Ability to work with numbers and analyze them & participation in preparing of key strategic recommendations and senior management reporting
Comfortable operating at a senior level and enthusing a passion for online retail across the business
Stimulate new thinking and ideas across the organization as it relates to digital and ecommerce capabilities
Self-services and requires minimal support and supervision
