Engineering Network/Expert Connect – Knowledge Management Summer Internship
Worldwide Engineering & Technical Operations (WWE&TO) Summer Intern in the areas of Knowledge Management will be involved with various projects within the organization. An Intern should expect to own the following roles and responsibilities: Contribute individually and/or as a team member to support a designated functional area or project, work towards goals and objectives assigned by your supervisor, and analyze business processes for reengineering opportunities.
Job Description:
Primary projects of this internship will support is the design, build, and launch of new content areas for the Engineering Network and Expert Connect websites. Areas of focus will include next generation improvements to the websites, database development and analysis. Project will involve collaborating with colleagues within the group to understand needs, development of new content for the website, and then implementing this content on the website. There will also be opportunities for the intern to take on various other projects within the Engineering Network/Expert Connect group.
General Qualifications for All Business Operations & Knowledge Management Positions:
Project Experience
The intern should be well organized and able to multi-task, as well as work on their own. This includes the ability to plan a project from beginning to end, i.e. set goals, complete stages on time, meet with necessary individuals, and keep the project on course. They also must keep their supervisors/managers informed throughout the lifecycle of the project, and be able to seek out direction when needed.
Communication
• Good communication skills: written, oral, and face-to-face
• Able to interact with employees and contractors on all different levels and phases of projects
• Able to interact successfully with all involved, including interviews for information, setting up and keeping appointments, and extracting information key to the success of any project.
• Able to produce and communicate the knowledge back to individuals for feedback, corrections, and adjustments
Technical Computer Skills
Proficient with all Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook); experience with Share Point is strongly preferred
Qualifications
Qualifications (Position Specific)
Must have very high proficiency and experience analyzing data within MS programs: Excel, Access (or other database programs); Experience with database design and development in Microsoft Access (or other database programs) is required; Experience with or the desire/ability to quickly learn SQL is required; As all websites are based on Microsoft SharePoint (2007), experience with or the desire/ability to quickly learn web design in Microsoft SharePoint is a requirement for this position; Experience with web development strongly preferred

Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 Preferred
