This position covers the CLS CHINA & North Asia. Covering China, Taiwan, Korea and Hong Kong.
Sr BRM IT Mgr is accountable for the Business partnering & IT portfolio delivery to the China & NA cluster. IT BRM partners with the CLS business organization in business planning and business analysis, needs analysis and business risk assessment, and consults with business partners to shape demand and determine how to best support the business through the effective use of technology. This role interfaces with and manages strategic relationships with partners (who may be in IT or the business) by representing and promoting IT capabilities.
Specifically accountable for the IT support for relevant processes under CLS viz OTC processes, Warehouse Management and Transportation , Customer Service & Customer connect ( commercial customer) business functions and how they will integrate with global cross sector initiatives driven by CLS Business Services, CLS Quality and CLS Global transportation.
Position Summary :
Partner the CLS Cluster organization, leading planning for the use of technology to support the business’s strategic objectives. Prioritizes initiatives and identifies opportunities for technology to add business value in conjunction with business leaders. Accountable for IT investments and realization of project portfolio.
Technical Expertise :
- Understands business issues, and factors them into technical decisions and recommendations.
- Possesses a broad understanding of current and emerging technical architecture, i.e., what is and what is not possible.
- Partners within the IT organization to identify emerging technologies to link with business needs, where appropriate.
- Creates and oversees proactive development and execution of integrated business and technology strategies for assigned business partner communities.
Business Knowledge :
- Has in-depth knowledge of the strategic plans/initiatives of the CLS business, and/or can quickly come up to speed on the strategies and critical success factors for the business.
- Maintains an understanding of business activities of competitors and of industry in general. Able to transform major business change initiatives into strategic level systems solutions.
- Understands the business impact of different solutions, and can assess and communicate the tradeoffs between business needs, technology requirements, costs and risk.
Typical Challenges Addressed :
- Conducts complete diagnosis of most business problems, factoring in a strong understanding of the business processes and anticipating implementation obstacles.
- Clarifies vague, undefined business needs, helping business partners define requirements and determining how to best address them.
- Conceives of and designs projects that typically require extensive systems integration, large teams and multiple technical platforms, with global implications.
- Performs risk assessment and develops a contingency plan with possible alternatives and a recommendation when unanticipated situations arise.
Portfolio & Projects:
- Responsible for Demand Governance in the Cluster cross sector.
- Responsible for Project Portfolio tracking and reporting cross sector in the cluster.
- Consults to project teams and/or assists in the management of large, complex technology projects typically lasting more than a year and involving multiple vendors, multiple technologies, leading edge technologies, and broad implications for the I/T architecture.
- Responsible for developing business case and presenting to management.
- Manage and/or lead projects as required.
- Co-ordinates cross sector projects on SAP platforms where Delivery is with the respective sector SAP teams
Compliance:
- Develops a deep understanding of all IT (SDLC, SOX, DRP/BCP) compliance requirements related to MRCs owned by CLS as applicable.
- Works with Finance & IT Compliance Competency center to ensure all IT compliance requirements are defined, managed, monitored and met.
- Promotes need for compliance amongst the CLS business organization.
Financial Forecast & Expense Management:
- Works closely with Finance to develop annual IT budgets and effectively manage IT expenditure within these agreed budgets
- Identifies areas of cost savings in I/T and prepares action plans to achieve savings
Autonomy & Authority :
- Provides the final description of a Project plan from a business perspective, including the deliverables required and the results expected, and obtains approval /sponsorship/support from the business.
- Realigns project efforts to ensure business requirements are met
- Advise management on budgetary issues and negotiates a successful resolution
- Contributes to the strategic growth plan of the IT organization
- Recommends strategic directions for long term spending and growth plans for business partners.
- Can recommend internal and external resources to management for approval
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree required, master degree desirable, preferred major in computer science and system
- 6-8 years' MNC IT working experience
- Strong orientation for collaboration and results focused
- Excellent understanding of supply chain processes, metrics and performance drivers.
- Knowledge and experience in ERPs, especially SAP.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong Customer (internal & External ) focus
- English speaking required, multi language skills are preferred
- Ability to handle and perform in ambiguous/complex environment
