Position Overview

In this Head Office based role you will lead a team of 3 Regional Medical Education Managers (MEM’s) in the development and ongoing execution of the National Medical Education Oncology Strategy to maintain current prostate cancer patients, facilitate market expansion and competitive differentiation. Actively participate in strategic planning and ongoing tactical management of the business as a key member of the Business Implementation Team (BIM), the Medical Education Team and the Medical Affairs Division.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the development and ongoing execution of the national and regional Medical Education plans supporting the Oncology business (Zytiga®)

Manage and implement in field medical education activities and KOL development within oncology

Lead human resource development including hiring, developing and retaining a high performing team

Provide leadership/support to the MEM team as they develop and execute their plans in support of our regional efforts as a primary focus, and have them partake in supporting national programs as a secondary focus

Embed themselves into the cross functional teams (BIMs, Access, government and community relations teams) supporting the HCP specialties of prostate cancer

Through Customer Insight Research, provide strategic direction for existing and emerging customer peer to peer communication activities, major conferences, symposia etc.

Budget management

Ongoing assessments of return on investment for non-CHE initiatives through leading and lagging indicators

Stay abreast of emerging data and translate the data into applicable tactics for knowledge transfer to health care professionals:

Contribute to the ongoing facilitation and management of data assets including the review process

Qualifications


University degree in Business, Life Sciences or related Health Sciences discipline strongly preferred

MBA an asset

Therapeutic area knowledge in oncology and experience supporting a product in prostate cancer an asset

Demonstrated cycle of success within oncology pharmaceutical Sales/Marketing

History of strong collaboration skills in order to work proactively with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales and Market Access, and other business partners on a brand’s competitive positioning.

Demonstration of coaching competencies and ability to lead people; previous experience in leadership roles a strong asset

Strong knowledge of Rx&D code and Healthcare Compliance policies and procedures.

Knowledge of principles of adult learning

Results driven, strategic thinker, strong project management skills

Ability to translate data into knowledge including contributing to the development of communication assets

Demonstrated ability to work closely with Key Opinion Leaders to gain key marketing insights and to develop CHE content

Bilingual: French/English an asset

Must be able to travel approximately 40% of the time
