Description

Janssen Diagnostics, LLC, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Director of Medical Affairs, USA and Canada, to be based in Raritan, NJ.

Janssen Diagnostics is a division of Janssen Pharmaceutica R&D, a Johnson & Johnson Company with the primary objective of providing support in developing diagnostic solutions that create value and assist in the appropriate use of the products in development by Janssen Pharmaceutica in the areas of Infectious Diseases, Oncology, Immunology, Neurosciences and Internal Medicine. Janssen Diagnostics incorporates Veridex, an innovative company which provides Diagnostics tools and Lab Testing Services to the oncology community in a fast growing business in relation with Biomarkers and personalized medicine.

The Director of Medical Affairs USA & Canada will serve as a primary scientific and clinical support resource for the Company. This includes communicating scientific and medical information with health care practitioners and researchers as well as handling interactions with Regulatory agencies, payers and government.

The incumbent will be responsible to lead the Janssen Diagnostics Medical team in charge of implementing the circulating tumor cell scientific and clinical strategy in the US and Canada. Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and clinics. Establish and Maintain high degree of knowledge in key functional areas: Circulating Tumor Cell platform background and scientific principles, Clinical utility of CTC in oncology practice, and Diagnostic oncology. Support clinical and medical training needs of customers as well as other partners ( Janssen Pharmaceutica, Distributors, etc.) Provide Coordinate and manage specific projects/collaborations with academic centers and clinics. Develop and provide input to research protocols for specific projects promoting the diagnostic offering in oncology, as well as the Janssen Diagnostics message and value. Assist in publication planning, preparation and review. Build advocacy for Company existing and future products among regional and national thought leaders, including physicians, key academic centers, professional organizations, patient advocacy groups, hospital administration and payers. Represent Company at professional meetings, congresses, local symposia and partner-sponsored meetings. Handle medical issues that may arise from customers regarding Janssen Diagnostics products. Support the US Business Teams in achieving its goals and targets. Attend scientific meetings in representation of Janssen Diagnostics. Manage clinical activities aimed at expanding labeling claims and use of Janssen Diagnostics products. Oversee and lead clinical development activities of new products, with initial emphasis on oncology diagnostics.

Qualifications


Medical Doctor (MD) degree required. Specialization in Oncology would be an asset. A minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical and/or industry experience is required. Experience in the conduction and design of clinical trials is required. A record of publications (peer review and/or abstracts) is preferred. Expertise in diagnostic oncology would be highly valued. Strong oral & written communications skills along with the ability to operate in a complex organisational environment are required. Demonstrated skills in leading high performing teams are required.
