Janssen Ortho LLC, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting a Sales Representative to cover the North East territory in Puerto Rico, supporting the Diabetes Business Unit. This position is based in the facility located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico but will be field based.

The Sales Representative is primarily responsible for achieving sales forecast and gaining access of promoted products and, subsequently, sales of these products, at assigned territory. This is accomplished by establishing mutually beneficial, long-term business relationships with influential healthcare providers, residents, fellows, attending physicians, medical offices staff, nurses, and pharmacists, key to the sales success of promoted products. Also is responsible for coordinating sales strategies with appropriate teammates to maximize sales in assigned territory. Will be accountable for achieving sales results by delivering volume and volume growth in the assigned territory. Execute the company's business plan within the assigned customer segment. Influence decision makers to support the use of Janssen products in the treatment of relevant diseases states by applying in-depth clinical expertise and effective selling skills.
Conduct sales calls with decision makers and medical professionals within assigned territory. Devise and implement customer specific selling approaches that address the practitioner's perspectives within compliance guidelines and business objectives. Organize and conduct group meetings, delivers presentations and in-services to develop thought leaders and positively influence practitioners to prescribe Janssen products. Achieve productivity metrics to support attainment of business plan sales goals. Understand each client's unique needs and business objectives. Devise and institute selling strategies to deliver sales goals while supporting the achievement of specific business objectives. Organize and complete administrative responsibilities efficiently, including healthcare compliance, expense reports, call reporting and other assignments. Apply business analytics, marketplace, therapeutic, competitor and clinical expertise to position Janssen favorably within territory and to maximize sales results within the marketplace. Adjust the plan to minimize the impact of competition and to maximize sales opportunities. Devise and institute an integrated business plan that includes clear strategies and plans to target key accounts and physicians utilizing all available resources while aligning the plan with the District and Region's plans. Serve as a source of information and support to counterparts in identifying trends, understanding competitive conditions and sharing knowledge of therapeutic practices within the marketplace. Leverage J&J business partners within overlapping territories to maximize use of resources and increase business outcomes. Attend all required sales meeting and complete all required training curriculum in a timely manner. Ensure that customers are consistently educated and trained on safe and appropriate use of Janssen products. Represent company at conventions and educational programs. Effective territory management and assigned territory budget. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree is required; a minor in Science or Business Administration is preferred. A Master’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry are required. Experience with diabetes drug products is highly preferred. Consistent demonstration of ethical and professional behaviors and values. Demonstrated track record of producing solid results in a functional group or commercial operation. Computer Literate with MS Office systems (Excel, Word, Power Point) and sales management information technology systems required. Exceptional collaboration and teaming and leadership skills, including ability to positively influence peers, are required. Ability to have cross-functional communication and relations with internal and external partners. This role also requires an understanding of reimbursement, and must understand short and long-term sales. Candidate must be fully bilingual (English & Spanish, oral and written). Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of healthcare environment including managed care, product economics and industry trends in order to anticipate future challenges and opportunities. Must openly promote cooperation across the organization and work to remove barriers in order to maintain long-term win-win relationships. A voluntary mentor for his/her colleagues. Candidates must be able to lift, carry, pull and push up to 25 pounds. Work requires sitting, walking and standing up for extended periods of time. Willing to travel as necessary or required, this may include travel within Puerto Rico and up to 20% to US. A valid driver license required with a clean driving record are required (A clean driving record is considered one that does not have any combination of three or more violations or accidents, while the vehicle was in movement in the past three years or any combination of three or more violations or accidents, while the vehicle was moving, within any 6-month period). The eligibility assessment is based on the date(s) of the actual violations versus when the conviction occurred.
