Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for an IT Senior Manager, System Quality Assurance within Application Services. The position will be based in Raritan, NJ.
This position will plan, design and ensure the execution of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) functions in ITAS. This role will also be responsible for measuring and assist in the continuous improvement of the quality of software delivery across IT Application Services teams globally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, design and implement SQA practice enterprise wide; Manage the implementation of a system for having Software Quality Plan for projects and enforce the execution of the same; Plan and establish a system for formal Peer Reviews and ensure the processes are implemented per the SQA plan; Identify, log and track for closure of any deviations from the standards; Manage the identification, tracking and analysis of project quality goals and objectives in terms of predicting the defects based on historical Process Compatibility Baselines (PCBs); Design and implement a system for documenting compliance summary reports for the projects and ensure execution of the same.
Implement a system for process adherence assessments & phased exit reviews are conducted as per SQA plan and log/track deviations; Create a process to share status reports of SQA activities performed on the projects and share with the stake holders; Ensuring audit change management activities per documented SQA plan, processes and standards; Partner with the project team to collect the data for the identified metrics per project's defined process and provide analysis of those metrics; Log data to the organization's metrics repository after the review.
Partner closely in alignment with the SQA teams of supplier organizations; Establish a system for initiating CAPA if the project data is going above or below the control limits established in the PCBs and ensure necessary action; Continually enhance the capability of the SQA practice/team and keep it current and relevant to organization’s needs; Create a system to prove SQA practice is adding value; Rolling up SQA metrics across application development projects; Design a system for providing an enterprise dashboard; Ensure short and long-term SQA goals are met by the project teams on time and within budget, providing guidance where required; Participate and support the SDLC team in J&J IT processes improvements; Train and coach project teams ensuring they have the skills and knowledge in order to perform their roles in delivering quality software solutions across the enterprise.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Software Engineering is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of overall experience in information technology is required, preferably in a large global organization. A minimum of 5 years of experience with Software Quality Assurance and Software Testing is required. Experience using Software Quality Assurance disciplines and methodologies in large projects are required. Experience or certification in Lean, Six Sigma methodology is preferred. A thorough understanding of CMMI, ITIL, ISO and PMI standards is preferred. Thorough and detailed understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including Waterfall and Agile is required. Experience working within a regulated environment is required. Experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries are preferred.
Candidate must possess strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to testing methodologies. Ability to make decisions via thorough analysis using Process Excellence (PE)/ Lean methodology is preferred. Must be a skilled communicator across national and cultural boundaries, with well-developed influencing skills and ability to influence people beyond span of control. Proven ability to establish and manage a Global team is required. Ability to drive resolution for critical issues by bringing in teams together – both J&J internal and external vendors is required. Ability to be a Change Agent with a high tolerance for ambiguity is required. Must maintain integrity and trust within and across all organizations and relationships.
Must practice active listening to understand others’ perspective and ensure continuous understanding. Highly motivated self-starter, with a hands-on and can -do attitude, that can operate with limited direction and supervision and who can set own priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to strategically develop long term plans executing short term objectives to achieve groundbreaking, mature results with a calm, focused demeanor. Working collaboratively is a critical success factor for this position with the ability to work independently when appropriate. Working knowledge of application and infrastructure validation policies, procedures, work instructions, forms and templates.
