McNeil Consumer Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Marketing Director, OTC Global Franchise Allergy. This position can be based in either of the following locations: Fort Washington, PA; Skillman, NJ (willingness to travel frequently to Ft Washington); Markham, Canada (willingness to travel frequently to Ft Washington); Maidenhead, UK.
McNeil Consumer Healthcare markets a broad range of over-the-counter products, including TYLENOL® acetaminophen products; BENADRYL®, ZYRTEC® and ZYRTEC®-D allergy medicines; IMODIUM® A-D anti-diarrheal; MOTRIN® IB; and SUDAFED® and SUDAFED PE® nasal decongestants.
This position is responsible for leading the strategy and innovation for the Global Allergy franchise. Key responsibilities include: Key business partner in returning the U.S. to growth. Global Allergy franchise and brand strategy development. Allergy innovation and NPD/claims development. Geographic expansion and new business development. Talent/Organizational Development.
Responsibilities include: Lead development of U.S. innovation pipeline, partnering with U.S. team to ensure fit with recovery and growth goals. Partner with U.S. as lead market in development of equity tools in preparation of brand re-launches (e.g. global footprints, brand guides, copy strategy). Develop strategic priorities (5-10 year timeframe) and growth initiatives for Allergy franchise. Lead key business processes for the franchise. Input and contribute to overall global OTC strategic plan. Develop annual business plan. Lead GFLT meetings. Global brand stewardship, leading the development of global packaging, equity tools, and competitively superior positioning and communication strategies (including digital), in partnership with lead markets. Leverage and share foundational learnings, equity tools, communications programs/copy, pipeline, claims and success models across markets as appropriate. Establish pipeline innovation strategy and platforms for the franchise. Represents Allergy franchise through Global NPD governance/portfolio management process. Partner with R&D Allergy lead as co-sponsors for global NPD pipeline. Own resource prioritization across Allergy portfolio and represent franchise for broader OTC resource decisions. Lead global claims development and validation. Develops plan for expansion beyond current geographic footprint (key markets, entry strategy, brand/ingredient strategy). Work with BD to identify and develop new franchise growth initiatives (new business models/L&A). Works with Switch team to identify new switch opportunities. Serve as marketing lead on execution of global BD opportunities. Responsible for building a high-performing, collaborative, diverse Global team. Ensure clear roles & responsibilities between GFO and markets. Importer/exporter of high potential talent both WW OTC and JNJ. Build strong collaborative partnerships with Regional leadership, All Other Functions, Business Development, Switch COE and local markets. Leader as “Coach”; establishing clear development and performance plans and providing frequent, honest feedback.
Qualifications
A Business related undergraduate degree required. Master in business or marketing specialization preferred. A minimum of 10 years of marketing experience in consumer/healthcare related sectors is required. A minimum of 3 years of OTC (over-the-counter) experience is required. Global experience is preferred. Proven success in strategically positioning and launching new Products/claims required. Experience leading multi-functional teams in support of identifying growth opportunities required. People management experience with strong track record of talent development is required. Experience working in international organization is preferred. Ability to interact and influence senior management, build trust-based relationships and exhibit an inspirational leadership style. In-depth understanding of how to integrate marketing and R&D strategies is required. Ability to evaluate needs, information, inputs and processes from a wide variety of functions and partners including consumer insights, R&D, Manufacturing, Legal, Regulatory, etc. Strong problem solving skills are required. Candidate should have a strong focus on performance, strategic agility, high potential and a proven record in outperforming business goals and expectations in current and previous roles. Strong collaboration skills, given multiple internal and external partners and stakeholders are required. Effective influencing, negotiation, communication and management/coaching skills are required to lead global, cross functional team effectively and motivate team members toward flawless execution are required. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is required. Cross-cultural sensitivity is required.
