Senior Scientist Clinical Immunology (m/f)
Department
The Clinical Immunology department is responsible for the immunological evaluation of vaccine candidates in clinical trials. Hereto, the department defines the immunological strategy supporting the clinical development, and ensures the development, and validation of the required immunological assays, and clinical sample analysis. Typical assays to determine the immunogenicity of vaccines are the antibody ELISA, T cell ELISpot, Intracellular Cytokine Staining, and virus neutralization assays.
Job Description
The task of the senior scientist is to define the strategy for clinical immunogenicity testing of candidate vaccines, by literature searches and laboratory investigations into the correlates of protection. In collaboration with clinical development, the testing strategy needs to be defined, implemented and documented to support the effective clinical development of vaccine candidates.
The senior scientist is responsible for the supervision a team of scientist and technicians (~7 FTE) to perform studies in house or to outsource specific activities when needed. The assay development, validation and sample analysis need to fulfill quality requirements according to applicable guidelines and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). The senior scientist will represent the department at various internal and international meetings.
Kwalificaties
PhD in biomedical sciences and several publications in the field of immunology 5 of the following 7 qualifications
- Experience with cell based assay development and validation
- Experience with clinical immunology studies or vaccine trials
- Demonstrated communicative skills, fluent in English
- Track record of coaching and leadership
- Trained in GLP or GCLP
- Previous interactions with FDA/EMA
- International research experience
