Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Learning and Development professional with previous experience within the pharmaceutical industry, to join our team, supporting Medical and Oncology.
Role Purpose:
To work as Learning & Development Manager (L&D Manager) in delivering key objectives for the HRD and Janssen Business Units
- Consult and understand L&D needs across defined business units with appropriate focus on sales and commercial business units
- Identify and recommend appropriate solutions to drive the people development, skills and resources that drive the achievement of strategic goals and objectives.
- Collaboratively create and drive annual training plans for allocated business units.
- Collaborate cross functionally in order to ensure appropriate PDPs are in place to support development
- To oversee, measure and validate the delivery and quality of training and development provided, and devise and track the impact of interventions
- To provide or facilitate skills-based learning provision for all employees where required and appropriate
- To support effective use and application of the competency models within the business
Key Role Activities:
- Takes a performance consulting approach to developing and supporting designated Business units
- Consult with senior managers of customer facing staff to identify priority development needs, challenging best practice in Training Needs Analysis to direct the resourcing and development of people and teams
- Design and quality control of the content, delivery and facilitation of core training for new customer facing staff in all skills required to achieve successful customer engagement (e.g. Professional Selling Skills (PSS) and Account Management Excellence (AMeX) )
- Work with appropriate Medical colleagues to:
- Oversee the facilitation of comprehensive product and disease area training for all customer facing staff
- Drive continuing professional development of sales teams in customer and therapy area knowledge and expertise to exceed customer expectations. Getting better never stops.
- Collaborate with Organisational Effectiveness Manager to drive use and expertise of competency models in order to develop organisational capability
- Maintain regular contact with brand teams to align training with brand needs and to have a clear understanding of market and competitive knowledge
- Engage in key change management activities with key stakeholders across the business to support HRD and other organisational initiatives.
Qualifications
Essential knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Previous Learning & Development experience within the pharmaceutical industry essential.
- Experience within a field-based pharmaceutical sales post highly desirable
- Experienced, confident competent trainer comfortable at working at all levels.
- Outstanding presentation, facilitation and communication skills
- Change Management
- Experience, accreditation or capability of consulting or delivering training & development in:
1. Account Management
2. Selling Skills (PSS or equivalent)
3. Performance Management
4. Talent management
5. Coaching
Qualifications
- Educated to minimum degree level
- ABPI qualified - essential
- ILM Coaching Academy certificate or equivalent (or proven relevant experience),
- Desirable: Professional Selling Skills Trainer accreditation, Account Development trainer accreditation
