Global Franchise Engineering assists our Business leaders in the creation and co-development of innovation strategies, platforms and goals which are tied to Global Consumer, Customer & Franchise strategies. They are the voice of Engineering in the Global Franchise Organization and will navigate Global Engineering to provide quality engineering solutions to the business. This role will focus on our Baby brands and may be responsible for some Beauty brands. These franchises consist of renowned brands such as Listerine, Neutrogena, Aveeno, Band Aid and Johnson’s Baby.
Responsibilities for Staff Engineer will include but not be limited to:
Innovate and utilize technical expertise in the development of packaging materials and processes. Lead strategy for the major device, equipment and package development projects.
Develop and maintain a strong partnership with all business team members. Utilize expertise and experience to provide device, equipment and packaging guidance by drawing knowledge from our internal platform groups. Help to develop our internal platforms based on business needs. Work across multiple regions and build alliances with our GE partners, worldwide.
Be recognized as a leader and expert in package engineering with past experience in manufacturing, equipment and devices.
The candidate will draw on the Engineering Platform groups, key business partners and Regional Franchise Engineering teams to provide our commercial business leaders with solutions that are delightful to consumers, feasible, and manufacturable. In addition, the right candidate will be able to lead by having the capability to manage project prioritization and determination of GE resource gaps (both personnel and technology), and assess regional application, workload, and business needs. Finally, they will give guidance to the Global Engineering Teams on future trends for their respective global franchises.
Qualifications
A minimum of a B.S. in Mechanical/Industrial/Packaging Engineering or related discipline is required. A minimum of 7 years of engineering experience is required. A minimum of 3 years in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) is preferred. Experience in cosmetics and beauty is preferred. An understanding of a broad spectrum of packaging materials, structures, components, and related conversion and manufacturing processes is required. Device development experience is a plus.
Working experience in a Cross Functional, fast paced environment is required. A highly motivated individual with strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to partner effectively across functions and levels is required. Leadership potential and proven effective communication skills, strong planning and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple rapidly changing priorities, and focus to achieve customer expectations are required. Experience taking a technical lead on projects is preferred. This position will require up to 20% travel both domestic and international.
