The Cardio Vascular and Specialty Solutions Group of Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Human Resources in Menlo Park or Fremont, CA

The Cardio Vascular & Specialty Solutions Group is made up of seven operating companies that span the West Coast as well as Minneapolis, MN and Cincinnati Ohio.

The companies which could be covered by this role include: Acclarent and others as requested.

The Senior Manager, Human Resources will be helping to find, grow and keep the remarkable colleagues in our commercial organizations – to include Sales & Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Healthcare Economics teams. He/she will be a champion of Johnson & Johnson’s culture and values, partnering with our business leaders to help them build their organizations and ensure that the teams reward and recognize high performance, innovation and creativity. Whether coaching the clients on how to lead their teams, navigating and resolving employee relations issues or managing programs that help develop our colleagues, he/she will be exceptionally focused on supporting our colleagues to deliver on our commitments to the doctors and patients that rely on our solutions. Joining the HR team, he/she will be both hands-on and strategic to provide human resources expertise in the areas of employee relations, coaching/development, compensation, conflict management, organizational development and more. This is a true generalist role that works closely with the management team and colleagues on people related issues. He/she will be instrumental in initiating and driving HR programs/initiatives within those organizations.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager, Human Resources will drive people initiatives with strong communication skills, coaching, and influencing and offer thought-leadership regarding organizational/people related strategy and execution. S/he will support the implementation of team structures and cultures that drive innovation and employee engagement and create and implement effective change leadership plans to enable the organization to thrive through periods of change. S/he will contribute to the design and be responsible for implementation of the HR strategy in support of near and long-term business goals. S/he will lead departments through core HR programs (e.g., performance management, compensation planning, promotions, etc.) and educate clients on compensation practices, performance review process, organizational design and various management issues. S/he will assist with employee communication initiatives within client groups and partner with specialist groups to ensure coordination of HR strategies and processes across the organization. S/he will support the implementation of appropriate HR solutions aligned with business direction and implements global/standardized HR processes at the local level and provide relevant data and recommendations to guide decision-making related to compensation, organizational structures, retention, promotions, and other activities. Frequent interaction with in-house employees at all levels. There will be possible interaction with regulatory agency representatives and regular interaction and partnership with HR Specialist Groups such as J&J Recruiting, Total Rewards, Talent Management and Employee Relations.

Qualifications


Requirements:

A minimum of a BA/BS degree is required. A minimum of 5 years of Generalist experience is required, other business partner/specialist experience is a plus. An MBA or Master's degree is preferred. A flexible work style and approach based on client needs as well as a learning orientation and the ability to work in a matrixed environment are required. Strong mindset for continuous improvement and meeting or exceeding client expectations is preferred. The ability to establish strong relationships at all levels and geographies throughout the organization and cross-functionally is also preferred. Proven change management, project management and organizational development/effectiveness skills with demonstrated ability to manage projects and initiatives is preferred. Strong problem solving and employee relations skills as well as Medical Device industry experience a plus. Intermittent domestic travel required (on average 1 week or less/quarter). Based on business need, must be willing to possibly travel and/or work weekends and evening as required.

This position is located in Menlo Park or Fremont, CA and requires minimal travel.
