Ethicon LLC, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting an MES Assistant for the facility located in San Lorenzo, PR.This is an individual contributor partnering and collaborating with the MES Administrator in managing and supporting the MES system and the implementation of appropriate system applications.

The MES Assistant will be responsible for the support of the MES system, having specific expertise with electronic batch record; exception reporting, implementation and integration with the actual MES application. Maintain positive business relationships with managers and staff in major segments of the organization, consistently demonstrate a thorough understanding of the customer's business, their processes, and their priorities. Ensure that MES system functionality and performance meet current and future business requirements by applying validated principles and concepts. Creates and maintains routes, standard operations, work centers, recipes, PM Checklist and all other system objects. Ad-hoc report writing through the use of tools such as SQL and TOAD. Knowledgeable about and be able to access all data outlets that customers interface with. Ability to understand client server and database fundamentals. Assist in the customization and of existing programs to meet users and operational requirements. Maintain the proper operation of the Biometric equipment and Thunderbird application. Assist in the implementation and communication efforts of new programs/ processes/ systems, significantly influencing system design, configuration, and business processes to meet user’s needs, and presenting key findings, possible alternatives, and recommendations to the MES administrator. Train MES users on the basic application functionality or new modules implemented.

Qualifications


A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electronic is preferred. Two (2) years of experience in regulated manufacturing environment is required, working experience in the medical device industry preferred. Must have at least one (1) year of computer systems experience, including knowledge of computer system validation, technical standards, business hardware/ software/ network fundamentals. Knowledge and experience with reporting tools (Cognos, SQL, TOAD, ODBC, etc.) is preferred. Experience in managing the creation of software test plans and carry-out tests (CSV) is required. Knowledge in data interfaces/file transfer, reporting and analysis skills is preferred. Knowledge in J&J SDLC architecture is highly preferred. Knowledge on MS Office Applications and MS Windows is preferred. Fully Bilingual (Spanish & English), oral and written is required. Must be flexible to support any shift/day based on the operational needs. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and demonstrated communication skills. Have strong interpersonal, problem-solving and corrective action skills are required. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to work on production areas (all buildings), sometimes have exposure to noise and occasionally lift heavy objects.
