Description

Janssen Research & Development LLC, a Johnson & Johnson company, is recruiting for a Director of Global Talent Management - Pharmaceuticals, Strategy and Innovation located in Raritan, NJ.

The Director of Talent Management is responsible for developing a deep understanding of the Pharm Global R&D, Global Strategic Commercial Organization and Business Development business model and strategies and delivering an aligned, global talent strategy to meet the organizational and leadership capability needs. The incumbent in this role will be accountable for diagnosing talent management needs, leveraging established J&J programs, and designing solutions to best deliver on business strategy and in alignment with J&J standards for developing J&J Credo-based leaders. Be responsible for implementing value creating talent management programs and processes that address the needs of critical roles and their feeder positions. Facilitate implementation of business specific talent strategies in alignment with enterprise talent strategy. Support the end-to-end talent management processes and work in collaboration with critical partners in Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion, and Total Rewards.

The Director of Talent Management will partner and consult with HRVP and respective HRLT members, provide support to the Pharm GOC respective members and Management Boards, business leaders and Global Talent Management to deliver value-creating talent management and leadership development solutions. This job will require capabilities to: Assess the current state of the Leadership Pipeline for respective business groups. Identify appropriate solutions to fill the gap in the pipeline. Be positioned to facilitate actions that accelerate talent readiness in the pipeline; able to qualify how healthy the pipeline is and feeder pools are and drive action accordingly. Be able to identify trends in development needs and design talent strategy and mobilize a plan on how to address talent issues. Create and sustain the momentum around leadership pipeline development through use of metrics, analysis, talent processes, etc. Take leadership and ownership for owning the succession planning process; maintain current view of pipeline candidate status and pipeline health.

Develop deep understanding of critical talent in the business: Have broad knowledge of critical talent; connect and develop rapport with talent and know their aspirations and potential. Be able to assess capabilities, strengths, and development needs of critical talent, and, have recommendations on how to address needs. Collaborate with BBHR on talent nominations for accelerated development programs within J&J leadership programs, and track progress in succession pipelines/talent pools. Track development progression of critical talent. Partner with HR and Talent Management colleagues to: Facilitate cross-function/cross-region/cross-sector talent movement, and facilitate and drive the slating process for business level critical positions. Implement Global Talent Management core processes across client groups. Influence without direct-authority and across hierarchies on decisions related to talent selections, talent moves, and talent management critical processes. Effectively lead and influence within a matrixed-environment on talent management related decisions and initiatives. Keep important talent related needs on the radar for BBHR and the organization.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelors Degree or equivalent is required. A Master’s Degree or MBA is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of relevant business experience is required. A minimum of 3 years experience working with senior leaders and implementing talent management strategies is desired. Must have a combination of client-based human resources experience, talent management, and organization development experience. Experience working in a global, highly matrixed and complex organization is preferred. This position requires a global mindset, strategic thinking, excellent communication and influencing, and strong collaboration and client support orientation. Previous experience working in the Pharmaceutical sector is a plus.

This position may require up to 15% domestic and international travel and is based in Raritan, NJ.
