The Project Manager will be responsible for participating on cross-functional project teams through all phases of the product development process, planning and executing projects through product launch. The individual will work closely with Marketing and surgeon customers to define user needs, generate design concepts and prototypes, perform design evaluations (such as tolerance analysis, FEA, simulated use testing, etc.), and support the development of product verification/validation plans and testing.

The Project Manager will also work with manufacturing engineering and suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability.

The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the application of design controls and development processes, as well as possess the ability to prioritize tasks and manage a varied workload, and exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills. They will interface effectively with project teams, management, and surgeons. The individual will also be expected to develop an expert knowledge of our product lines and detailed knowledge of various muscular skeletal pathologies, and will be an active participant in sales training and provide product support to the field.

The incumbent will make decisions affecting project budgets, assignment/alignment of resources, project execution and surgeon/customer relations. Impact of decisions made can have significant impact to DePuy Synthes regarding costs, product launch, and surgeon/customer relations.

Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, with a Masters Degree being preferred. A minimum of 3 years of product development experience as an individual contributor in the medical devices or related field is required. Orthopedic implant, instrument and/or technology design experience is preferred.
