Neutrogena Corporation, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Facilities Mechanic, located in Los Angeles, CA.
Neutrogena Corporation develops, manufactures and markets premium skin and hair care products sold worldwide and recommended by medical professionals. The regulatory classification of the products is principally OTC. The product line includes acne treatment products, sun protection, facial care as well as other hair and skin care products.
The Facilities Mechanic is responsible for the overall facilities maintenance area with focus on equipment and infrastructure for plant operations. This position will also support other daily plant activities with emphasis on electrical systems, electrical controls, and PLCs such as equipment operation, equipment monitoring, equipment maintenance and repair, equipment/systems trouble shooting, equipment & infrastructure upgrades, and special projects.
This position will be reporting to the Facilities Engineer & Shift Team Lead.
Must be able to work all shifts and overtime and holidays if needed.
Qualifications
A minimum of a High school diploma required. Completion of electrical & mechanical technical certification from an accredited institution required. A minimum of 5 years of related electrical engineering or mechanical work experience on the above disciplines required. A Universal 608 license preferred, a boiler license or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employement required. Knowledgeable and experienced in the NEC electrical code required. Must have 5 years experience in PLC knowledge and troubleshooting required. Must be able to troubleshoot electrical systems and control systems required
Must be able to read and understand wire schematics and ladder diagrams required. Must have functionality knowledge of basic electrical components such as capacitors; relays; switches; PLCs; and contacts, must be able to read and understand ladder logic and identify faulty components, must be able to install and modify electrical systems and components, must be knowledgeable in the NEC electrical code, Must have 5 years experience in HVAC knowledge and troubleshooting, Must be able to troubleshoot package units, must be able to troubleshoot split systems, Must be able to troubleshoot compressors and refrigeration systems such as leaks, must be able to troubleshoot basic electrical HVAC components such as capacitors; limits switches; replays; compressors; thermostats; vav boxes; pneumatic controls; and pumps, must be able to troubleshoot basic refrigeration components such as compressors; condensers; evaporators; valves; solenoids; expansion valves; and reversing valves, must be able to pump down a system; evacuate, and recharge refrigerant, must be able to repair ductwork and ducting components. Must possess or acquire unlimited steam engineer licensee within 6 months of employment, Must have 5 years experience working with boilers, must be able to operate boilers in a safe manner, must be able to troubleshoot boiler and make minor repairs to components and accessories, must be able to work with piping; installing; modifying; and repair, must be able to perform start-up and boiler shutdown, must have basic boiler water treatment knowledge, must be able to troubleshoot pumps and electrical components on boiler
Must be able to follow simple instructions, must be able to use hand tools and power tools
Must be able to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues such as pumps and roll-up doors
Must be mechanically inclined, must possess a general knowledge of Air compressors and driers
General water chemistry/waste water/softeners, plumbing Metal fabrication/welding
